Long hair requires a lot of effort to maintain. For starters, you’ve to make sure that your tresses aren’t tangled and are always nourished. You’ve to spend a ton of money on hair care products, be forced into hair spas by salon professionals, and spend hours taking basic care. But sometimes, gorgeous hair is something people are blessed with (unfair, I know). Bollywood actress Disha Patani is part of the latter.
Known for her excellent dancing skills, bold fashion statements and out of the box beauty looks, today we’re admiring her long, beautiful hair. Talking to NDTV Swirlster, Disha Patani revealed that she’s got a basic hair care routine in place and it is surprisingly simple. She said:
“I am old school when it comes to maintaining my hair. So, for me, oiling my hair twice a week is a must. I love to use nourishing hair oils like onion seed hair oil. Other than that my regular hair routine is simple shampooing and deep conditioning. Due to my hectic schedule, I prefer washing my hair twice or thrice a week with a mild shampoo and a conditioner, followed by a hair serum.“
While there are measures you can take to look after your hair and make sure it’s in the best condition, there are also certain things that you need to avoid. The Malang actor suggested to “stay away from heat as much as possible as high temperature can cause damage to your hair.” Heat causes hair strands to dry out, damaging them and making them brittle. This is why you could be more prone to split ends, thinning hair, and breakage. “And always ensure to use a conditioner every time you wash your hair,” she added.
But if you do like styling them often, we recommend that you use a heat protection spray that’ll coat each strand and protect it from the high temperatures emitted by styling tools.
Disha also stressed on the importance of sustainable beauty saying, “Sustainable and natural beauty is an essential part of the wellness ecosystem now. Over the course of time, we’ve all been exposed to tons of chemicals and badly formulated products that are very harmful to our hair.” Obviously we agree. Sustainable beauty is the need of the hour. We’re glad that celebrities with a fan following are raising their voices for awareness.
Are you all set to give yourself a good ol’ champi like Disha? We’re going to do just that!
