Pinch Us! Not Ranveer Singh, But This Actor Will Play Dev In Brahmāstra Part 2 & We Approve

Ever since the release of Brahmāstra: Part One, fans have been eagerly waiting to hear updates about its sequel. From plot theories to celeb cameos, they want to know everything about the Astraverse franchise. However, it is the character of Dev they are most invested in. The fans are dying to know who will play Dev in the upcoming installments of the franchise and we finally have an answer.

Until now, it was assumed Ranveer Singh will essay Dev’s role in the film. In fact, movie critic Anupama Chopra recently let it slip in an interview that both Ranveer and Deepika Padukone will play leads in part 2. But to our surprise, this might not be the case.

During a promotional event, actor Hrithik Roshan teased fans and said he might be playing Dev in the sequel. When asked to confirm his roles in Brahmāstra and Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, he said, “What is happening? Nothing is happening. Next ‘Fighter’ will start and then there is potential for others to be made, (including) the ones you spoke of. Fingers crossed.” While this is not an official confirmation, it’s more than enough to keep fans satisfied for the moment.

There has also been chatter around Brahmāstra’s dialogues. Ayan Mukerji has finally admitted that they sounded better on paper and has promised to do better in the upcoming instalments. “I thought this would give the film a soul. That the greatest energy comes from within you and the greatest form of energy is when you are in a state of love. It may have sounded better on paper than it came across to certain people. When I talk, I keep taking people’s names a lot, this is my habit. So that stayed in the script and came in the film as well,” he said.

Well, after hearing about Hrithik’s speculated appearance and Ayan’s reassuring statement on the dialogues, we’re dying to see what the Brahmāstra makers have in store for us!
