Deepika Padukone’s Mom Didn’t Approve Of Her Relationship With Ranveer Singh?

When it comes to celebs who give us couple goals, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone always top the list. The duo has given us almost a decade of loved-up pictures and beautiful memories now. There’s nothing that fans don’t like about #DeepVeer. However, not everyone used to think so, especially DP’s mom! Believe it or not, Ranveer’s mother-in-law Ujjala Padukone wasn’t a fan of him when he started dating her daughter.

Just like his on-screen romance in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Ranveer had to try a lot to win over his in-laws IRL. During RARKPK’s press meeting, the actor shared that Ujjala didn’t understand him at all in the beginning. “Unke palle hi nahi pada (she didn’t get me,” said Ranveer.

The Gully Boy star added, “When we spent time with each other and understood each other, she understood jaisa bhi hai, dil saaf hai aur ladka acha hai (he is a good guy). Now, she is one of my favourite people and I am, most certainly, one of her favourite people.”

In all honesty, I can relate to DP’s mom. Not everyone can understand Ranveer’s energy and it may take a bit to love him but once you get pulled into his world of flamboyance, there is no coming back! 

Deepika’s Take On Ranveer & Her Mom’s Bonding

In March 2019, Deepika opened up on how her mom shaped the person she is today. The Pathaan actress revealed her mom was extremely strict with her and Ranveer also got inspired by this.

“We were all her priority. She allowed us to pursue our passion and, at the same time, disciplined all of us. Today if Ranveer says ‘my wife expects us to be home at a certain time, go to bed at a certain time’— all those things come from her,” shared DP. 

It’s heartwarming to see Ranveer’s love for Deepika’s mom. Dare I say damaad goals?
