#MeToo: Deepika Padukone Says She Won’t Work With Anyone Accused Of Sexual Harassment

Bollywood actress and activist Deepika Padukone is a woman of confidence, charisma and wit. She has always done memorable roles, whether it was Rani Padmavati in Padmaavat or a modern-day architect in Piku. In her upcoming movie directed by Meghna Gulzar, she is playing the role of an acid attack survivor.

She inspires her fans every day even with her actions off-screen. She is one of the first few celebrities to openly talk about mental health issues. In fact, she has gone one step ahead to launch The Live Love Laugh Foundation to raise awareness about these issues and help people suffering from it. 

Fans have always admired the actress, so the news of her meeting director Luv Ranjan at his home in Mumbai didn’t go down well. Deepika and ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor allegedly met him recently to discuss a new project.

If rumours are to be believed, Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor, would be making an appearence on screen for the fourth time in their careers. However, her working with her ex was not why her fans were upset. They were against her decision with working with a filmmaker who has been accused of sexual harassment in the #MeToo movement.

In fact, film critics called his last film, Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety, as misogynistic, too. It came as a surprise to her fans that Deepika Padukone would even agree to have a conversation with Luv Ranjan. Luckily, in a recent magazine interview, Deepika Padukone was asked if she would work if someone who has a history in sexual harassment. She immediately replied in negative, “No! I won’t.” To fans who were expecting Deepika to respond on the speculations, her answer must have come as a relief. 

In other news, we can’t wait for Deepika’s new film, Chhapaak, to release. One of the most anticipated movies this year, it also stars Vikrant Massey and is based on acid attack victim survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
