A Little Birdie Told Us About Deepika Padukone’s Birthday Plans & It’s Not What We Were Expecting

Be it her red carpet looks or her Instagram shenanigans, one can always trust Deepika Padukone to do everything in style and leave us impressed. As the diva turns 36 today, everyone’s been wondering about her plans for the big day! Well, a little birthday revealed how the actress is going to spend her day and NGL, we’re a little disappointed. 

Turns out, Deepika has no grand plans for her birthday this year and we totally understand her reason. According to the grapevine, the actress decided to cancel her birthday bash owing to the current COVID-19 situation in Mumbai.

DP was earlier planning to celebrate her birthday with the trailer launch of her upcoming film Gehraiyaan. However, the event was cancelled due to the rising number of COVID cases in the city.

A little birdie told us that Deepika has jetted off to the Maldives with her husband Ranveer Singh to ring in her birthday instead. TBH, we were totally hoping for a massive bash today, but we are so proud of Deepika for taking the right call. Better safe than sorry, right folks?

Last year, Deepika and her parents contracted the virus and the actress took some time off work to recover. In a previous interview, the Cocktail star said, “I don’t think anyone could make sense of what was going on at that time because every single person, not just in India but around the world was trying to grapple with what was happening. Life after COVID changed for me because physically, I was unrecognizable completely… I think (due to) the medication I was given, the steroids that I was put on. So COVID in itself was weird, your body feels different, your mind feels different. I felt that when I had the illness it was still okay but after that, I needed to take two months off work because my mind wasn’t working.”
