TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people list for 2018 is out and both Deepika Padukone and Virat Kohli are a part of it. Deepika is the only Indian actor who was named in the prestigious list and Virat Kohli’s testimony was written by the master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar himself.
Deepika is ecstatic about the news and she posted it on her Instagram thanking TIME for the honour, to which, Ranveer Singh’s response was the cutest. He commented on the post with “QUEEN”, followed by a crown emoticon.

Priyanka Chopra was also spotted on the list of 100 most influential people in 2016. She certainly knows how it feels to be acknowledged for all your hard work. Priyanka took to her Twitter to congratulate her friends, Virat Kohli and Deepika Padukone for their achievement. She posted, “So happy and proud to see my friends @deepikapadukone and @imVkohli on the #Time100 list. Big congratulations and so well deserved #DesiPower #Represent”
Previously as well, celebrities, friends and family have been seen congratulating Deepika and Virat for their outstanding achievements in their respective fields.
Sachin Tendulkar once wrote about Virat Kohli, “The U-19 World Cup in 2008 was very important for India, as it would define the next bunch of youngsters who would go on to represent the nation. That was the first time I watched this young, passionate player lead India. Today Virat Kohli is a household name and a champion in cricket. Even back then, his hunger for runs and consistency was remarkable, something that has become the hallmark of his game.”
Vin Diesel had earlier praised Deepika for her work and personality. Vin revealed, “When Deepika Padukone came in to read for one of the Fast and the Furious films, I knew instantly I was in the presence of someone very special. As soon as she entered the room, there was a synchronicity, a synergy, a chemistry—it promised great things to come. Her schedule didn’t work for that movie, but I never gave up. She was the first role we cast in xXx: Return of Xander Cage. She said, ‘I want to do this movie, but if I do, you have to come to India.’ Thank God I made that deal.”
This isn’t the first time and it shouldn’t be the last that an Indian makes it to a world list!
