Deepika & Alia Are Eyeing The Same Role In SLB’s Next Film & We’re Dying To Know Who He Picks!

To say that Bollywood is an unpredictable industry would be quite an understatement. There are films that are announced and shelved for years (Remember Brahmastra?), and then there are films that cause a stir even before they are released due to various reasons. Take Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Baiju Bawra for instance. The movie has been in the spotlight for months now for its star cast and we still don’t have an official update! 

Earlier, it was being reported that Deepika was approached for SBL’s period drama. NGL fam, we were really looking forward to watching Ranveer and Deepika create magic on-screen! However, our happiness seemed to be short-lived as Deepika had walked out of the film. And if rumours are to be believed, the reason for her exit was because the actress had demanded equal pay as her co-star.

 Next, the grapevine was abuzz that Alia Bhatt was all set to star in SBL’s ambitious project. A source was also quoted saying, “Alia went berserk after reading the script of the movie. The actress called it the best script she has read till now.” The same source added that SBL felt that Alia “suited the part”. However, before you get too excited about the Raazi actress being a part of the film, let us tell you what the latest buzz is! 

Apparently, both Alia and Deepika are still in the running for the female lead role in the movie. A little birdie tells us that Deepika is keen on being a part of the project and has also reached out to SBL. However, the director, who recently worked with Alia in Gangubai Kathiawadi wants her to be a part of it. 

Talking about the movie, Baiju Bawra is a story of a young musician who challenged the famous Tansen in Mughal Emperor Akhbar’s court.

Well, we love both the talented actresses and can’t wait to find out who’ll be a part of SBL’s movie! Here’s hoping SBL decides ASAP and puts out an official announcement soon!
