Putting all speculations to rest, film producer Boney Kapoor confirmed that their 23-year-old house help has tested positive for COVID-19. The producer’s statement was shared by daughter Janhvi Kapoor on her Instagram.
According to the statement, their house help Charan Sahu wasn’t feeling well since Saturday evening. He was being kept in isolation and was later sent for tests. After he tested positive, the house help was sent to a quarantine facility by the BMC.
Boney has further said that his family and the rest of the staff are not showing any symptoms as of now. All of them are following the BMC’s guidelines and will stay in self-quarantine. “We haven’t left our home since the lockdown started. We are thankful to the government of Maharashtra and BMC for their swift response. We shall be diligently following the instructions and advise given to us by BMC and their medical team. We are sure that Charan would soon recover and be back at home with us,” Boney added in the statement.
B-Town has already seen a couple of COVID-19 cases. Actor Zoa Morani, her sister Shaza and their father, producer Karim Morani, were among the earliest reported COVID-19 cases in Bollywood. All of them have now recovered from the virus. A month ago, Zoa had announced on Instagram that she was out of the hospital with a selfie in a surgical mask. She wrote, “Time to say goodbye to my warriors from space and keep them in my prayers forever! Goodbye isolation ICU. Time for #homesweethome!”
Singer Kanika Kapoor was one of the first Bollywood celebrities to have tested positive. A month ago, she was discharged from the hospital after testing negative for the novel coronavirus for the second time.
