1. YouMee, GK 2
Entering YouMee was like opening the doors to a Japanese amusement park with the sweet aroma of dimsums. The walls had a Manga theme and the tempting sushi bar called out to me the moment I saw it. First things first, the black rice sushi is amazing! With many delicious options to choose from, their sushi will make even a sushi-hater fall in love with this Japanese delicacy. I had the juiciest pork in their ramen noodles and the prawn tempura was a delight too! The beverages were refreshing – just what you need in this weather, but they had me at the paper straws! And just when I thought my dinner couldn’t get any better, I was served a melt-in-your-mouth chocolava cake. YouMee gets full marks for food and extra marks for being reasonably priced.

2. Bo Tai, Mehrauli
We began our meal with carpaccio of scallops, lime and chilies, Rambutan sorbet and though the flavours may have been too fresh for my pallet, they did challenge the boundaries of my taste buds. The highlight of my meal was the smelted rice flour dumplings, I wished they would never end. I don’t go back to visit restaurants where I don’t find warm people, but I think the staff made the meal much better. P.S. The Pom Tam Cola comes in a beautiful bowl with edible flowers, so don’t forget to get your hands on that.

3. The Irish House, Connaught Place
What do you to make the first monsoon showers most memorable? You get yourself some good company and grab some mac and cheese along with a drink. That’s exactly what I did when went to the Irish House in Connaught Place. The raw interiors and the cool bar gave awesome vibes. Catch up over a couple of drinks with your friends there! Their mac and cheese with fries is the best thing on the menu if you’re a cheese lover!

4. Olly Cafe, Gurgaon
There’s a new cafe in G-town and it’s cute AF. AD Singh’s Olive Group just opened up OLLY – an all-day cafe in Cyber Hub. In true Olive tradition, their food is delicious and the decor is quirky. Peppered with interesting books, it’s a space which makes you feel right at home. I’m tempted to spend a day working out of OLLY and later, asking my girlfriends to join in for a cocktail-infused evening.

5. Triple 8, Ansal Plaza
My ideal Sunday involves a late brunch, delicious tropical cocktails and bite-sized Asian food. Triple 8 happens to have all three. It’s located in Ansal Plaza, a once-prominent Delhi mall. If you’re looking for an all-you-can-drink sparkling wine/beer brunch on this side of town, look no further. Their chef has been flown down especially from Japan, so don’t underestimate the food. Chef Rana has spent a lot of time in Asian restaurants in New York and is recreating a New York classic on the menu – explosively spicy chicken wings. If you visit, do not leave without trying a plate. They are divine! He says he hopes to make them even spicier. Spicy chicken wings and unlimited beer starting at Rs 888 only? Wouldn’t say no to that! Also, try the dimsums! And if you’re in the mood for a sit down kinda meal, there’s an upstairs area that provides the fine-dining experience.
