- Powder sugar – 1 Cup
- Egg – 1
- Almond extract – 2 drops
- Red food colouring
- Sprinkles
Steps to Make:
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl. Beat butter and sugar together in another bowl. Add egg and extract to it. Add all the dry ingredients and mix well.
- Divide dough into two halves. Add red food colouring to one and mix well. Shape each dough into ½ inches thick squares. Wrap them in plastic wrap and freeze for 30 minutes.
- Place red dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll into a ¼ inches thick rectangle. Repeat the same with white dough. Remove the top sheet of parchment paper from each dough. Place red dough on top of the white dough with their sides facing each other. Seal them together by pressing gently.
- Remove the top parchment paper and trim the sides to make the dough even. Using the bottom parchment paper, roll the dough tightly into a log. Seal the rolls well and freeze them overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°. Cut the rolls into 1.5 inches thick cookies. Bake them until their edges are set and just starting to turn golden.
