Oh-So Heavenly! Here’s Why The “Cherub Lips” Look Has Gained Popularity

An undeniable beauty classic is plumped lips, without a doubt. This sweet beauty trend is now having a significant moment, much like fluffy lashes, doe eyes, and gorgeously flushed cheeks. Even though it’s a look that celebs love, getting that chubby look can be challenging. Genes and makeup frequently play an important part, but owing to the Cherub Lips trend, a little creativity and artistic lip liner application can give you a plump pucker in no time. Let’s take a look at how to achieve the famous Cherub Lips.

What’s So Special About Cherub Lips?

Instagram

Cherub lips are referred to as a “doll-like” lip shape, coined by makeup artist Ehlie Luna, whose viral video popularised the look. Its shape is somewhat pouty and down-turned, with an emphasis on volume at the top. Basically, you achieve a pleasant, plump look befitting of a Bratz doll by placing the majority of the liner in the middle of your lips and adding height.

Here’s The Technique You Need To Follow!

Only a few things are needed to create cherub lips. A lip pencil, concealer, and your favourite lipstick shade.

In the viral video that sparked the trend, the makeup artist starts by lining her lips and instructs you to disregard any natural dip, like the cupid’s bow that’s in the middle of your lips. She advises her followers to only overline at the cupid’s bow, “emphasising the volume on top,” and is particularly cautious during the lining procedure. After perfecting the cupid’s bow, she lines the remainder of her top lip, being careful to stay inside her natural lip line.

She advises beginning at the outer corner of your lips and working your way into the centre of your bottom lip by following your natural lip line. Then, to enhance that delicate, rounded contour, softly apply liner just below your natural lip line. You just need to add lipstick and/or gloss after lining, and you’re done.

On the contrary, another artist introduces a similar fad called “oval lining” to achieve a comparable pouty appearance. As the name implies, you round out your cupid’s bow by drawing an oval shape with your lip liner around your lips for a charming, feminine look. You can easily achieve those pouty, cushiony lips by adding a touch of gloss.

Oh boy, this season was all about embracing the new fads that took the internet by storm.

Cherub lips are the perfect way to claim yourself this season.
