Pop It, Lock It & Polka Dot It: Bollywood Can’t Seem To Get Enough Of This Dotted Obsession!

Are polka dots becoming the safety net for fashionistas who want something happy and summery but not florals? Just last month we looked at the print being huge in the fashion circles with the ‘black on white‘ reversed look:

The look is a total knockout for young thespians like Alia, who complement it with their fresh face and happy smiles. And even though we thought that that might be the end of it, these classic dots made a comeback this time in the form of different styles and colours, while still remaining relevant and up to date. How are celebs wearing it now? 

Leading with an ensemble that takes power dressing from serious business to downright fun, Malaika Arora Khan wore her pair of dots with matching co-ords and a bralette to boot.

While dressing head-to-toe is not a new concept, mixing two types of polka dots in your separates is rarely seen. Actor/producer Divya Khosla Kumar stepped out with her son in this exact combination and we couldn’t help but wonder why haven’t we thought of this trick before!

The trick is to mix and match polka dots of different sizes so that you don’t look like a freckled giant who had been left out in the sun for too long!

Talking about pretty moms, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s comeback with Veere Di Wedding has been celebrated for many reasons. For us, its a second chance at marvelling this fashion icon and boy has she not disappointed. Putting her own spin at the polka for one of her promotional looks, Kareena stepped out in a navy blue and white nautical themed dress that made her look cute as a button.

Keeping in line with her love for the pattern, she chose one of her airport styles while flying out to Cannnes to be the biggest set of polka prints we have ever seen. Pairing the long shirt dress with a reversed printed scarf, Sonam has solidified her status of the Polka queen in the history of travel styles.
