This is a special year for India at the Cannes Film Festival. The representation is something else with so many desi divas walking the red carpet and the glamm game has already begun. Our Bollywood girls claimed the coveted red carpet on the very first day of the film festival and gave us some rather interesting looks. Here’s a round-up of them all:

Sara Ali Khan As The Indian Princess!
It’s always exciting to see Indian divas embracing desi designers on international red carpets. Sara Ali Khan did exactly that and took it up a notch with her quintessentially Indian fit. She wore an intricately embroidered Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga set featuring two dupattas! The trailing beige dupatta added some drama to the look but it was Sara’s crystal and pearl work blouse that stole the show. Also, some might not agree but I like how she has tucked the dupatta with her bun. Sara looks like a princess which is perfect given that she hails from the royal Pataudi family anyway!
Esha Gupta The Greek Goddess!
I stan a bold queen and kudos to Esha for going full risqué with her Nicolas Jebran gown. I love the sexy slit! It’s definitely the life of Esha’s dreamy chiffon outfit. The 3-D flower detail is bringing an ethereal touch to the gown and perfectly complimenting the draped sleeves. Some gold jewels and she would have looked like a Greek Goddess! Esha’s look has definitely turned out to be the biggest surprise from the evening. 10/10 I’d like to see more of her on the Cannes red carpet!

Urvashi Rautela As The Loofah!
Restraint isn’t Urvashi Rautela’s strongest suit! A big fan of maximalism, she is always trying to make it bigger and that often doesn’t work in her favour. Case in point—her outfit for day one of the Cannes Film Festival. The actress opted for a hot pink Sima Couture gown but do not stare. The sea of ruffles and the loud hue might give you a headache! The glitter on her bodice is def not helping the situation and Urvashi could have used more subtle jewels.
Manushi Chillar’s Lewkwarm Look!
Manushi’s look is not bad but it’s not quite there either. The styling is a mess. I mean how dare they made her wear those hot pink heels with her grey gown! That’s just unserious and not in a good way. The emerald accents on her necklace are making it fall apart even further.
All in all, it was an eventful day at Festival de Cannes. It would be interesting to see what more our desi divas have in store. Stay tuned for all the updates!
