Shaadi is one of the most important events in our lives. From planning to look sabse hatke to taking care of the decor to the T, it’s the bride-to-be’s moment to shine. But sometimes, life has other plans.
Meet Apurva Agarwal, the founder of Amaaya Jewellery and a cancer survivor who recently flaunted her baldness instead of hiding it under insecurities, and won hearts. Back in 2022, Apurva’s world came crashing down when she got diagnosed with blood cancer, a month prior to her initially decided wedding date. While people generally lose hope in such situations and stop seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, Apurva’s new life began. Thanks to her partner and now husband, Anirudh, who stood by her side through tough times and rounds of chemotherapy. After being there for each other and making peace with reality, Apurva and Anirudh finally tied the knot in May’23. The best part? Our gorgeous dulhan flaunted her true self on her D-day. Sharing her feelings with a wedding magazine, Apurva said, “I had lost all my hair by then, and was debating how I would present myself on my big day—head wraps, wigs, the works. As I tried on different wigs, I couldn’t shake off the gnawing feeling that I was pretending to be ‘fine’. I didn’t look like me; I knew I wanted to show up just as I am, but I wasn’t sure if I was ready. I messaged my fiancé the night before, telling him that I didn’t know what to do, and he said, “I’ll be waiting at the altar…in whatever form you show up.” It was the boost of confidence I craved.” Without further ado, let’s have a look at the gorgeous pictures from their civil wedding:
Isn’t the couple looking truly, immensely soaked in love? More power to Apurva for being an inspiration to millions of girls.
