They say love finds its way and all the weddings that are happening during the lockdown are evidence of the same. But this lockdown wedding is like no other. Bhavdeep Kaur, a Plixxo influencer from Ludhiana, got married on May 17 to her beau Harkarandeep Vaid, son of Congress MLA Kuldeep Singh Vaid, in a low-key ceremony at a Gurudwara. In an exclusive interaction with the new bride, we talked about Bhavdeep’s DIY wedding decor, her trendsetting face mask and her “COVID-inspired” bridal lehenga that she designed herself.
When asked how they prepared for a wedding during the lockdown, Bhavdeep told us, “It wasn’t easy to prepare since everything was closed. We reused a lot of stuff from my sister’s wedding. Did a lot of DIYs.” Besides being a model and stylist, Bhavdeep is also a designer and has her own brand Youngberry in Ludhiana. Using fabrics that were available at her studio, a gorgeous tent was made and set up in the backyard for decor. Matching cushions were also stitched at home from this fabric. Sharing pictures, Bhavdeep said, “This tent my mom made herself (picture 1)… She did more backdrops like this one using her dupattas (picture 2)”. Check out the pictures below:

“I obviously never thought of getting married like this. But everyone is simply loving the idea and it turned out to be such a beautiful day in my life so I can’t complain,” said the bride.
Coming to her bridal attire that’s going viral for all the right reasons, Bhavdeep wore a red mask matching her lehenga and even got her husband and bridesmaids to wear masks matching their outfits! “I got a mask made especially with the outfit since masks are a necessity and need of the hour and I wanted it to be a beautiful accessory so that I would not want to remove it,” she said. Her MUA Inder Kaur sure did a wonderful job with the eyes.
In fact, she also wore a designer mask matching her mehendi outfit, a bright yellow lehenga with 3D floral embroidery by Demarte. Setting trends but with caution, this one! Have a look:
The influencer wore an all-red Anarkali with beautiful gold embroidery on it along with a super flared lehenga skirt and net dupatta. We just can’t get enough of that lehenga! Talking about it, Bhavdeep told us, “My bridal lehenga was designed by myself and it is COVID inspired. I’ve sketched the embroidery pattern myself. I drew my husband and I wearing masks, locked down in homes while nature is reviving itself. I have shown clean lakes with ducks, peacocks, greenery, and animals like deers and elephants moving around freely.” She completed the look with gold jewellery by Le Khanna Jewellers. Check it out and zoom in all you want:
Bhavdeep and Harkarandeep’s families have known each other since forever and their match was arranged by their parents. Talking about their future plans, Bhavdeep told us, “Right now we’re happy to spend time with family and each other. Post lockdown we’re planning to get back to work and focus on that.”
Last year in December, Bhavdeep’s elder sister Evneet got married in Phuket, Thailand. A few weeks ago, Bhavdeep shared a throwback picture from her sister’s wedding of the choora falling on her head and captioned it, “I guess the universe did give me a memo! 😂😋.” Two weeks after that, Bhavdeep had her Anand Karaj in the presence of Sree Guru Granth Sahib Ji, following all the rules and regulations set by the government during the lockdown. All the wedding festivities took place at their residence with only family members and close friends around.
Our heartiest congratulations to Bhavdeep and Harkarandeep on their wedding. You just proved that no virus can come in the way of happiness ‘coz when there’s a will, there’s a way. We’re inspired by your lockdown wedding. Goals!
