The coronavirus pandemic has affected lives in ways unimaginable, but as they say, love always finds a way! And that’s exactly what we’ve been witnessing from the last three months. Soon to-be-married couples are planning intimate, even virtual wedding ceremonies to start the new chapter of their life and it’s heartwarming to see how even a pandemic couldn’t stop them from being together. Meet newlyweds Aashna Mansharamani and Rishabh Vora from Mumbai, who planned a shaadi with a restricted guest list and proved that celebrations don’t always have to be big to be beautiful.
Aashna and Rishabh were all set to get married on June 15, but then came COVID-19, and just like many others, they had to cancel their plans. However, the couple decided to go ahead with the original date so they could spend the rest of the time indoors beside each other. While the immediate family was in attendance, others attended the shaadi virtually.

The couple organised their mehendi ceremony at Aashna’s maternal uncle’s place and the wedding took place at the bride’s house. To avoid coming in close contact with people, Aashna’s sister and sister-in-law turned mehendi artists for the day. While Aashna’s sister did Rishabh’s mehendi, the bride herself, along with her sis-in-law, completed her mehendi.
As for the decor, the couple kept it minimal. In the true spirit of DIY, they arranged some fresh flowers in vases, lit some candles and added paper decorations to the mix.

For her bridal outfit, Aashna chose a dusty pink lehenga with foil embroidery from Falguni and Shane Peacock. The lehenga was styled with an intricately embroidered, cropped corset blouse with mirror work and a semi-sheer dupatta encrusted with crystals. Owing to the pandemic, her outfit reached her just three hours before the wedding, and luckily, it fit perfectly.
As for the jewellery, she picked up a unique polki set from label Renu Zaveri. The necklace and earrings were detailed with an interesting invisible setting using green stones, embellished with aquamarines and went perfectly with her attire.
The Wedding Shades
Aashna did her own makeup and kept it really simple to complement her bridal attire. Nude lips, eyeliner, a hit of blush and tons of mascara completed her bridal look.
