bridal hairstyles from ambani wedding

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding is undoubtedly one of the biggest weddings of the year. Some even say it is the biggest Indian wedding of the decade! From the guestlist to the food and events, the families left no stone unturned in celebrating the matrimony of their children. But for aam janta like me, this wedding was a spectacle to witness and take inspiration from.

I have a bunch of weddings to attend this year and am always on the lookout for how to switch up my look. Makeup is not something I’m okay with trying out – I’ll stick to my smokey eyes or glassy skin with a subtle glamm, thanks. But you know what’s an easy way to really elevate an entire look? Doing something different with your hair. And that’s exactly what all these divas who stood out at the big wedding did. Take a look!

Radhika Merchant

While the bride preferred to stick to the classics – by alternating between a low bun, classic waves and poker-straight hair, she did manage to sneak in a few different hairstyles, created by the talented Hiral Bhatia.

The first look featured a fishtail braid adorned with gold temple jewellery.

Radhika’s second noteworthy hairstyle was also a longer braid, created with extensions and held together with a rope featuring minuscule flowers.

Isha Ambani

It was clear that the sister of the groom surrendered herself to her stylists. From her outfits to her makeup, hair and jewellery, Isha’s looks were unmatched.

Adding a regal South Indian touch to her look with a silk saree, Isha opted for the Tamilian Jadai hairstyle. Her bun featured mogra flowers, a long braid, and a pure gold ornament to add a touch of opulence.

Relatively simple, this one featured wavy hair with only the crown pulled back into a small braid.

Perhaps the most elegant of them all, Isha’s simple bun was accessorised with a string of diamonds!

Shloka Ambani

Known to keep her looks relatively simple, even Shloka tried out an experimental ‘do for one of the events.

A briaded ponytail accessorised with a string of small diamonds? She didn’t need to try too hard to pull off this look!

Ananya Panday

Coming to the guests, Ananya Panday was present on almost all the days in support of the Ambani clan. While her makeup and outfits were as glamorous as the event, it was her hair for the reception that caught my eye.

Who doesn’t love a touch of boho? Small flowers that matched her outfit were added to her fishtail braid for the perfect bridesmaid look.

Kriti Sanon

It seems like accessorising a simple braid is the easiest way to elevate a look and that’s what Kriti did.

Her long braid too, was accessorised with a mix of stunning temple jewellery and flowers, proving that both aesthetics can be blended seamlessly.

Tamannaah Bhatia & Rashmika Mandanna

They say great minds think alike and it seems like both the south queens, Tamannaah and Rashmika, had the same idea and opted for ultra long braids.

Khushi Kapoor

Probably the only star who sported a half-up bun and aced it, Khushi’s look was the perfect amalgamation of going traditional the Gen-Z way.

This wedding season, I’m going in armed with these celebrity-approved hairstyles to make a subtle statement but still not overpower the bride.
