The day before the wedding can be exciting yet stressful for the bride. While running around to check on things may seem like the topmost priority, it’s important that you don’t neglect your beauty treatments. Here’s a list of bridal beauty tips and beauty dos and don’ts every bride should follow a day before the wedding. (You’re going to look like a star on your wedding day, gorgeous!)
1. Don’t Drink Caffeine Or Alcohol
Please don’t indulge in caffeine or alcoholic drinks a day before your wedding. You might wake up to breakouts the next day! Not only will it make your skin look dehydrated and tired, but it will also feel dry. Water or coconut water are fabulous alternatives. Either of them will make your skin look fresh, glowy and supple on your wedding day.
2. Do Get A Mani-Pedi
Just in case you’ve skipped this beauty treatment, you can get one the day before your wedding. It will help you relax and make your nails squeaky clean. For nail polish, pick a shade that’s neutral or one that compliments your wedding lehenga.
3. Don’t Use Conditioner The Night Before
Too much of conditioner can change the texture of your hair overnight. Unless you’ve had a word with your hairstylist, avoid washing your hair on the day leading up to the wedding. If you must use a conditioner, make sure it’s used 3-4 days before the big day so it has time to settle.
4. Do Look After Your Teeth
You want sparkling white teeth on your wedding day, right? Hence, we encourage you to brush and floss your teeth after every meal. You can use a tongue cleaner to clean your tongue as well. Fresh breath and white teeth, what more can you ask for on your wedding day, right?
5. Don’t Experiment With Your Brows
Plucking your eyebrows or even experimenting with its shape is a big no-no so close to the big day! Remember ladies, eyebrows serve as the frame for your face. If by chance you change its shape, your blunder would be pretty evident – and that’s a risk you don’t want to take. It’s best if you leave them alone!
6. Do Exfoliate And Moisturize Your Skin
Gently exfoliate your skin a day before the wedding. It helps remove dead skin cells and makes your skin smooth. After exfoliating, massage and moisturize your skin for a plump and illuminated appearance. Your skin will thank you for this ritual!
7. Don’t Work With A Makeup Artist You Don’t Trust
Be it hair or makeup, you must trust that they will do a good job on your wedding day. Go for trials and book their services in advance. Be transparent with them and feel free to ask them questions about your look. Communication between the two of you is what will bring about the best in your bridal look.
8. Do Prep Your Hair For The Big Day
A day before your wedding, you know that you’ll have your hair exposed to heat, products and styling tools. It’s best that you prepare your hair so that it doesn’t have to go through any stress post all the celebrations. If you have dry hair, using a heat protection spray as this will save your mane from getting damaged on your big day. If you have oily hair, stay away from using any oil-based hair products as that could make your hair greasy and sticky. When in doubt, it’s best to loop in your hairstylist for any hair concerns a day before the wedding.
9. Don’t Starve Yourself A Day Before The Wedding
Whatever you do, don’t starve yourself the day before or on your wedding day! Eat light and it’s best that you eat home-cooked food. You don’t want to be dealing with acidity or food poisoning on your wedding day now, do you? Veggies, fruits and grilled white meat are good choices.
10. Do Get Your Beauty Sleep
Dear bride, no matter how excited you are for your wedding day, you must get good sleep. Hit the sack early and try to sleep on satin pillow cases. It will not only prevent your skin from breaking out, but will also prevent your hair from getting damaged. Don’t forget to apply a night cream so that your skin stays hydrated and looks fresh the next day.
