No amount of FaceTime and digital immersion can kill the evil of loneliness”.
The Bachchan Family
Unfortunately, everyone from the Bachchan family except Jaya Bachchan contracted the virus. On July 11, Amitabh Bahchan informed his fans through social media that his reports for coronavirus came out to be positive. He was admitted to the Nanavati Hospital, along with son Abhishek Bachchan. He wrote, “I have tested Covid positive, shifted to Hospital…hospital informing authorities .. family and staff have undergone tests, results awaited ..All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested”.

Abhishek took to Twitter and informed the fans about the same. “Thank you all for your continued prayers and good wishes. Indebted forever. Aishwarya and Aaradhya have thankfully tested negative and have been discharged from the hospital. They will now be at home. My father and I remain in hospital under the care of the medical staff,” he wrote.
Big B recently resumed work and began shooting for Kaun Banega Crorepati 12. A few days ago, there were reports about two crew members on the sets of KBC 12 testing positive, however, the channel, Sony Entertainment Television, has quashed all the rumours.
Purab Kohli
Purab Kohli, who was last seen in Mission Mangal, revealed on April 7 that he along with his wife and two kids had contracted the virus. The actor, who currently lives in London with his wife Lucy Payton and kids – Inaya (4) and Osian (1) – informed his fans through an Instagram post. Purab said, “Inaya got it first and (it was) very mild. A cough and a cold for two days. Then Lucy got it more in the chest, quite similar to the cough symptom everyone has been talking about”.
According to Purab’s post, he was the third one to show the symptoms including fever, fatigue and cough. Osian was the last one to be diagnosed with COVID-19, he wrote.
Four days later, he revealed that his family has fully recovered from the virus and thanked his fans and friends for their constant support.

Kanika Kapoor
The first one to have tested positive in Bollywood, singer Kanika Kapoor was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow on March 20. The singer, who had returned from the UK, was booked by the Lucknow police for not revealing her travel history and not quarantining herself after returning from London. The FIR was lodged based on a complaint filed by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Lucknow. She attended a high-profile party at BSP MP Akbar Ahmed Dumpy’s residence on March 14, putting a lot of other people at risk.
After testing positive for four times, Kanika finally tested negative for the virus on April 4. She was discharged from the hospital on April 6 after she tested negative for the second time. On April 26, Kanika shared a post on her Insta handle to clear the air over multiple reports doing the rounds.
Wajid Khan
Music composer Wajid Khan passed away at the age of 42 on June 1, 2020 after a sudden cardiac arrest. He was admitted to the hospital for a throat infection and reportedly, was also undergoing treatment for COVID-19.
However, his family released an official statement after his death which didn’t mention anything about Wajid suffering from COVID-19. His mother Razina Khan tested positive a day after his death though.
The government may have eased the restrictions, but the spiralling COVID cases are proof that the pandemic isn’t going anywhere. So, take as much precaution as you can and do not step out unless absolutely necessary.
