These B-Town Celebs Tested Positive For COVID-19 In 2021 & We Wish Them A Speedy Recovery
In 2020, several Bollywood celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Kapoor, and Malaika Arora had tested positive for COVID-19. In December, Varun Dhawan also contracted the virus while shooting for his movie Jug Jugg Jeeyo. However, with the number of active cases dropping significantly in recent months, a lot of people started to believe that the pandemic is over. Unfortunately, the world has still not recovered from the ongoing pandemic and to make things worse, new variants of the virus are being detected in the country.
We’re reminding you about these alarming facts not to instil fear but to make you understand that the threat that is still very much present. In such unprecedented times, everyone, including Bollywood celebrities, is trying to take all the necessary precautions and comply with COVID-19 guidelines.
However, many B-town celebs have recently contracted COVID-19 and reminded us once again that we are not completely safe yet. Here are some celebs who have tested positive in 2021.
Ranbir Kapoor
A week ago, Neetu Kapoor announced on her social media handles that her son, Ranbir Kapoor, had tested positive for COVID-19. She shared his picture and wrote in the caption, “Thank you for your concern and your good wishes. Ranbir has tested positive for Covid-19. He is on medication and recovering well. He is in self quarantine at home and following all precautions 🙏”
Ranbir was working on a few projects before contracting the virus that included Brahmastra, Animal, and Shamshera. Before that, Neetu had also tested positive for the virus along with her co-star, Varun, while shooting for her movie Jug Jugg Jeeyo.
She had shared, “Earlier this week I tested positive for Covid-19. All safety measures are being followed and I am thankful to the authorities for all their help and quick response. I am in self-quarantine, taking medication on my doctor’s advice and feeling better. I am so grateful for all your love and support! Please stay safe, wear a mask, keep safe distance. Take care.”
Sanjay Leela Bhansali
According to a leading daily, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has also contracted the virus. A little birdie revealed recently, “SLB has tested positive for Covid-19, and he is under self quarantine, Alia too has quarantined herself since SLB and Ranbir both have tested positive. Everybody who has come in contact with Sanjay have taken the test.”
SLB was shooting for Gangubai Kathiawadi but after testing positive, he had to stall the production of the film. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt has thankfully tested negative for COVID-19.
Tara Sutaria
If rumours are to be believed, Tara Sutaria has also tested positive for COVID-19. The actress has recently wrapped up the shoot of Tadap with debutant Ahan Shetty and is now under home quarantine.
Siddhant Chatturvedi
Siddhant Chaturvedi recently confirmed that has tested positive for COVID-19. The actor took to his Instagram handle and wrote, “Thank you all for all your concern. Confirming that I have tested positive for Covid -19. I’m feeling fine at this time and self quarantining at home. I have taken all precautions and followed all protocols as advised by the doctors. Being positive and tackling this head on.”
Manoj Bajpayee
Manoj Bajpayee was shooting for Despatched when he tested positive for COVID-19. The Family Man actor has halted the shoot RN and his rep has said, “Manoj was shooting for Despatch film, which is produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The actor is on medication and recovering well. He is in self-quarantine at home and following all precautions. We wish him for super recovery.”
Earlier, Gauahar Khan was accused of flouting the guidelines of COVID-19. However, the actress’ rep has issued a statement that said, “For everyone sending their best wishes and concern for Gauahar Khan, here’s the latest report. She’s tested negative in multiple reports.”
The celebrities who have tested positive for the virus recently are under home quarantine and recovering well. However, the surging COVID-19 cases in India are a reminder that we need to take the pandemic more seriously than ever.
