If you happen to be a 9 to 5 corporate kid, my guess is that you are already eyeing that long weekend in August. You know which one! And if you are even a little better than me at planning holidays, chances are that you have already booked the hotel. With the date set and tickets already in your kitty, there remain just two tasks at hand. The first would be to inform your boss and take your long weekend from ‘Grande’ to ‘Venti’. The second would be to cop those perfect swimsuits to make your holiday every bit fun and Insta-worthy.
Now, while I might not be able to help you with any chutti excuses (my boss will be editing this, you guys), I can certainly offer some help in the swimsuit department. In fact, I’ll do you a one-up and get all my girls at POPxo to help out. Looking for some killer swimsuit reccos? Read on:
Team POPxo Share Their Fave Swimsuit Brands
Already dreaming about that much-awaited beach vacay? Here are some of the best swimsuit brands that Team POPxo swears by:
Reebok, Adidas, & Hunkemoller
There are mostly two kinds of swimwear you’ll get in India. On one hand, there are local brands that are so conservative you’d think you rather swim in your regular clothes—I’m talking swimsuits with knee-length skirt/shorts attachments! Then there are foreign brands that offer skimpy swimwear—not a great option for India, plus I’d like something that actually covers my butt! Worry not, options still exist, although they are limited. If you’re looking for a simple V-shaped swimsuit for sports/daily swimming, my favourite is the good ‘ol Speedo. They offer cute prints and colours, and the fit is great! Other sports brands like Reebok and Adidas also have good options. If sexy beach swimwear is what you’re after, I recommend Hunkemoller—not only do they have great designs, but their fit is also fantastic (which means no wardrobe malfunctions!). If you’re not too stressed about finding the perfect fit, H&M and Zara also offer cute designs.

Nasty Gal
Nasty Gal is a brand I simply can’t get enough of. With an uber-chic collection packed with ultra high-rise bottoms and cut-out styles, this is exactly what I’ll be wearing next time I’m at the beach. I love the brand because it has literally every swim trend you’re looking for at an affordable price.

Pankh Studio
Pankh Studio is my go-to store for all things vacay. They have a great collection of swimsuits, that are comfortable and have an oomph factor, perfect for your vacation aesthetic. From bikinis and monokinis to beach coverups, they have a wide range that is also super affordable.

Marks & Spencer
I really like those 1950s-style mid-waist bikinis and Marks & Spencer offers a great selection of such swimwear. The pieces I own from the brand are elegant and comfortable with chic feminine detailing. The bottoms offer the perfect coverage and even their bandeau tops are padded, secure, and never slip off. Since I am not one to shop for too many bikinis unless I need to, sticking to my retro picks from M&S always stands the test of time both style-wise and in durability. It’s good quality stylish swimwear which is all I ask for.

ACQUA
I love this swimwear-resort wear brand called ACQUA. It features very flattering swimsuits that can be paired with pieces from their resort wear collection to create a head-turning beach/poolside fashion statement. The best part is that they also have some very stylish full-sleeved swimming costumes. I bought one for a trip recently and it kept the tan away and was so so comfortable.

H&M
If there’s one thing that deserves a coveted spot in my suitcase on a beach vacay, it is my H&M swimsuit. Not only is the material super comfy and of high quality but the eye-catching tropical designs and fashionable cut-out patterns make it a must-have. They also have a flattering silhouette and adequate support, especially around the bust. Besides that, their bikini bandeau tops along with high-rise bottoms are perfect for pairing with other resort wear. Not only H&M India, but I’ve even shopped for H&M swimwear in international locations like Singapore and Dubai, and I know I can always trust them, without hesitation.
