What’s special: Beautiful Valentine’s Day decor
Mumbai
Celebrating V Day in Mumbai? Oh, boy! You’re going to be in for a treat. Mumbai is not only home to some amazing restaurants, but also adorable cafes. In fact here, we don’t just have cafes for people, but cafes for dogs and cats too! (Yep, we’re pretty cool that way) If you don’t know where to take boo for Valentine’s Day, allow me to introduce to some gram-worthy cafes in the city of dreams. Let’s do this!
Pali Village Cafe
Pali Village Cafe
I love Bandra and the fact that it is has Pali Village Cafe. The cafe has a rustic vintage ambience with dim lighting which makes it look oh-so-gorgeous at night. There are candles placed on every table to give it that romantic vibe. If you’re going here on a date, make sure that you and your man get a picture against the rustic décor.
Address: 10, Pali Mala Road, Adarsh Nagar, Near Pali Bhavan, Pali Hill, Bandra West, Mumbai
Cost for two: Rs 3,000
Must try: coconut matcha, salmon poke bowl, lobster and mushroom crostini
Birdsong Organic Cafe
What I love about this cafe is that it’s so airy, peaceful and homely. This hidden gem is in Bandra too and away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. The cafe is known for its hot chocolate and has plenty of vegan food options too.
Address: Shop 1-5, Waroda Road, Hill Road, Bandra West, Mumbai
Cost for two: Rs 1,600
Must try: Hot chocolates, waffles, pancakes.
Cafe Pete
Are you and your boyfriend dog lovers? Amazing! You two should totally celebrate your special day at this lovely cafe. If you have a dog, you can bring him along too! It’s a vegetarian-only restaurant and all their dishes are fresh and delicious. Here’s me cuddling a pupper at the cafe.
Address: Shop 4/5, Ohh My Dog, Clanfield Society, Opposite Ashoka Academy, Andheri Lokhandwala, Andheri West, Mumbai
Cost for two: Rs 850
Must try: Tom Som salad, Bum-Chick-A-Bum pizza, mac and cheese
The Homemade Cafe
The Homemade cafe feels like grandmum’s home. Old crockery, vintage furniture, floral sofas, lace curtains – it has a very cosy vibe to it. I usually drop by for brunch. Also, I want to make a public food recommendation – please, please, try their banoffee pie.
Address: 41, Shop 4, Kaveri Building, Oshiwara Link Road, Near Oshiwara Police Station, Oshiwara, Andheri West, Mumbai
Cost for two: Rs 1,200
Must try: Banoffee pie, risotto, pink sauce pasta.
Grandmama’s Cafe
This place is love! I’ve gone here multiple times just because their interiors and food options are so good! They have around 7 outlets in Mumbai, but the one at Juhu is my favourite. Probably because it’s opposite the beach.
Address: Hotel Royal Garden, Ground Floor, Juhu Tara Road, Juhu, Mumbai
Cost for two: Rs 1,500
Must try: Nutrition Powerhouse Salad, parmesan meatballs, shepherd’s pie.
Leaping Windows
I’m a nerd and I’m not ashamed to say it out loud. Leaping Windows is the only Anime Cafe that I know of in Mumbai and I’m so glad that we have it. While you and your boyfriend wait for the food to get served, you can explore their manga library downstairs. I go there quite often and it’s always blissful.
