All of us dream of having a great summer bod but, for most of us, it remains a dream! Having said that, you don’t really need an expensive gym membership and a personal trainer to get fit. It’s almost as simple as finding what you love to do. Here are 6 ways to get fit WITHOUT the gym.

1. One word – Yoga!

Yoga is a great way to get fit and you can practice it at home! There are various free yoga apps you can use on your phone to learn the positions.There are also apps like FitStar Yoga, that allow you to personalize your workout depending on your skill level and to the amount of time you have to practice. So even if you are new to yoga or an expert and have 10 minutes or 1 hour, you can fit the workout, around you. Some yoga instructors also arrange free classes in public parks on weekends, so be on the lookout!

2. You can keep your own pace

The best and worst part about joining a gym is the personal trainer. They push you to do just one more set or run one more kilometer! It’s a good thing but it’s quite impossible to have the same enthusiasm everyday. When you work out on your own, you can move according to your pace and enjoy every bit of it.

Your besties are probably all levels of broke, just like you! And we all know that gym memberships can be costly. So what better excuse to get together and workout at home or in parks? You guys can push each other when the other is feeling lazy and the competition makes it even more fun. Friends who sweat together, stay together!

6. You can change your routines

Following the same workout routine everyday can get boring and might even push you to stop exercising completely. But when working out on your own, you’re able to build regimes that you can stick to and enjoy!
