Just like anyone else, popular TV actress Rashami Desai has had her own highs and lows. From rising to fame with the Colors show Uttaran to getting married to the love of her life and then getting divorced–Rashami’s life has been an open book. The actress recently made a fierce comeback on India’s popular reality show Bigg Boss and soon after stepping out, she has now quite candidly spoken about her battle with depression, in a first.
Rashami opened up about being depressed at the time of her divorce with TV actor Nandish Sandhu. Remember, the two met on the sets of Uttaran, fell in love and got married in 2012. However, things took a rocky turn and the two got divorced in 2016. “During my divorce, that entire period, I was going through depression,” said Rashami.
“I never wanted the divorce to take place initially. I did not want to be separated from the person I loved the most and I could say more than myself,” she told a leading media portal. The Dil Se Dil Tak actress further shared that though she tried her best to make it work, she was also the first person to ask for a divorce when things failed to get better.
Rashami also spoke about the kind of bond she and her ex-husband Nandish share right now. “We did argue and fought for a lot of things but in the end, we are happy individually today.” She went on to share that if they bump into each other at any party or event, they are quite cordial towards each other and there are no complaints anymore. “That’s very beautiful. I am happy, he is happy. What else do you want in life?” she said.
Coming back to her love life, the actress, as made quite evident during Bigg Boss, was dating Arhaan Khan. However, she ended things with him after he lied to Rashami about having a child and the actress was quite upset about it while she was still inside the BB house. She was often seen talking to her friend Devoleena and told her that she feels lonely and broken at times. But guess what? She sailed through that phase, went on to become one of the six finalists of Bigg Boss and is currently considering different projects.
Well, we’re glad Rashami has realised that she doesn’t need a man to complete her and that she is strong enough to handle anything that comes her way. Here’s hoping her fans take inspiration from her life!
