Rough Day? These 7 Badass Characters From Our Fave Shows Will Inspire You To Keep Going
After contracting the virus last month, I completely isolated myself for almost two weeks. And TBH, the only thing that helped me from having a mental breakdown every other day, was some of the most amazing (and cringy) shows. More than their storylines and plots, it was certain characters that helped me stay positive (umm… mentally).
To say that the last couple of months have been extremely difficult for all of us would be an understatement. Almost all of us have been living under a constant state of restlessness and fear. And more often than not, on such rough days, we get all the motivation that we need from the fictional world. Right?
From accepting the reality as it is (and with style) to staying calm when under the gun, we have found the seven most badass characters who inspire us to keep our shiz together.
7 Badass Characters That Inspire Us To Stay Strong
P.S. We have obviously excluded the adarsh bahus of Hindi daily soaps that are borderline masochists.
Moira Rose From Schitt’s Creek
If you ever truly want to know what we should do when life throws a lemon at us, then we suggest you take pointers from Moira Rose. The one-of-a-kind diva was the matriarch of the Rose family on the sitcom Schitt’s Creek. If you are not a fan of her witty one-liners, hysterical wigs, and the talent to turn a grave situation comical then… oh com’on! Who are we kidding? Is there anyone who’s not a fan of Mrs Rose played by Catherine O’Hara? We don’t think so bébé!
Phoebe Buffay From F.R.I.E.N.D.S
“I wish I could but I don’t want to” …And that my dear fam is Phoebe Buffay for you!
Her parents abandoned her, she lived on the streets for years, and she gave up her kids as soon as they were born. Well, we know that all of this is fictional, but we can always feel inspired by the way she finds reasons to stay happy despite all odds.
Phoebe’s (played by Lisa Kudrow) mantra was to love herself unconditionally, speak her mind and stay away from unnecessary drama. TBH, that sounds like a great mantra to me.
Hansa Parekh From Khichdi
NGL, all my insecurities take a backseat the moment I watch Hansa Parekh. Her personality is so charming and it makes me believe that despite our flaws, we are simply perfect. If you ever want to give yourself some notes on ‘self-love’, then watch Khichdi for Hansa, played by the supremely talented Supriya Kapoor.
Komolika From Kasautii Zindagi Kay
The one character from Indian daily soap who just doesn’t give up! You can ignore her, imprison her and even kill her, but she will come back to bite you in the arse. Well, we don’t know about anything else but you can surely learn to never give up from Komolika.
Fleabag From Fleabag
The beautifully twisted character of Fleabag, played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, tells you that life goes on. She made mistakes, messed up her life massively (like all of us) and yet she sorted it all out. How? She didn’t shy away from taking professional help and kept going. Isn’t that inspirational?
Maya Sarabhai From Sarabhai vs Sarabhai
When it comes to dealing with problems, Maya Sarabhai (played by Ratna Pathak Shah) is as real as it gets. She may fuss about things, but ultimately she always keeps a pragmatic approach and seeks help from her family. And TBH if we all do the same, our lives would be a lot easier.
Jessica Pearson From Suits
When we talk about Suits, we generally think of Harvey Specter and Mike Ross. The ‘Batman & Robin’ of the show. But, there’s another character that Robin aka Mike feared and Batman aka Harvey bowed down to. Yep, we’re talking about Jessica Pearson played by Gina Torres. We loved the way she took control of everything when things went down south. And sometimes, that’s all we need to do to move ahead in life.
So fam, ready to take on the day like these fab badass characters?
