B-town Divas Play Showstoppers At Bombay Times Fashion Week & Here Are Our Top 5 Looks
Oh, to sit front row and soak in the artistic brilliance of designer couture—it is a feeling that we have certainly missed in the past year and a half. Thankfully for us, the Bombay Times Fashion Week just made a comeback with its eighth edition and ushered in the much-coveted fashion week vibe complete with an impressive designer line-up and celeb showstoppers. Thoroughly nudged out of our fashion slumber, we definitely kept a close watch on all the shows and here are our top five celeb looks from the fashion week.
Rakul Preet For Sonaakshi Raaj
‘Roses but make them blue’ looked like the fashion memo for Sonaakshi Raaj’s refreshing couture line, ‘Juliet’, that she showed at the Bombay Times Fashion Week. As the showstopper, Rakul Preet Singh perfectly embraced the theme as she sauntered across the ramp while giving us the most standout bridal look of the season. Rakul’s sapphire blue lehenga was adorned with embellished rosettes in a standout detail that had us in awe. Even the straps of her blouse were crafted with beaded roses and it was the cutwork front panel that added a risqué touch to the look.
Pooja Hegde For Kalki Fashion
Green is the colour of the moment and we won’t be surprised if one of its hues gets declared as Pantone shade of the year. Rest assured, it is the most trending colour right now and actress Pooja Hegde was spotted in a rather unique hue of green during Kalki Fashion’s show. Dressed in the Palace Green Lehenga from the bride’s “Hera” collection, she gave us a contemporary bride’s take on wedding style. From the scalloped hem of the lehenga to its muted gold silver hand embroidery, everything about Pooja’s look was bookmark worthy.
Malaika Arora For Daisy Bridal
Malaika Arora aced the art of minimalism dressed in a pristine gown by Daisy Bridal. Her look comprised a delicately embellished chantilly lace gown and a solid satin bow. The white gown featured an off-shoulder neckline and full-sleeves which had our attention for their sheer finish. The white bridal wear market continues to remain highly segregated in India and it is indeed nice to see brands finally giving it some much-needed thought.
Hina Khan For Aari India
Hina Khan caught our eye on the Bombay Time Fashion Week ramp with her dual-toned pastel lehenga by Aari India. Done in organza tissue, the lehenga comprised a panelled underskirt which was dipped in complimenting hues of baby pink and blue. Hina’s dreamy outfit was hand-embroidered with resham, sequin and a touch of zardozi. It was the full sleeves and delicate colour palette to Hina’s lehenga that had us bookmarking the beauty as soon as we laid eyes on it.
Dia Mirza For Sanjev Marwaaha
Ivory bridal lehengas are a raging trend at the moment and the ever so gorgeous Dia Mirza gave it a nod in her Sanjev Marwaaha lehenga. The designer’s latest collection ‘Aarambh’ is a celebration of the luscious Indian palette and rich Indian textiles. As a champion of Indian handicrafts, Dia slipped into the stunning gold and ivory lehenga by the designer and gave us her take on the sustainable Indian bride.
Tell us fam, which one of these celeb showstopper looks left you the most impressed?
