Of course the big day calls for your mehendi to be the darkest and the boldest, with one of most beautiful designs out there, but not everyone wants to land up at the airport with fading orange hands and feet, and stay the same way all through the honeymoon! Here are 10 of the best solutions to get that henna off your hands before the honeymoon!!
1. Exfoliate And How!
You can use a store bought scrub that has antioxidant micro beads in it, or you can make your own scrub at home. Try 1 tbsp salt and 3 tbsps olive oil and watch it work wonders! Scrub your hands and feet twice a day for the best results.

2. Let Salt Be Your Saviour
Mix some salt in warm water and dip your hands or feet in the mixture for 20 minutes before rinsing. Do this a couple of times in a day.
3. Bleach Before Beach!
Facial bleach creams work wonders when it comes to removing henna. Apply the mixture to the desired area and leave it to work for the time listed on the packaging. If you have not used bleach before, do a patch test before you apply it all over.

4. Hair Conditioner Helps
Hair conditioners work really well on mehendi! Lather up some conditioner and gently massage your hands/ feet. Not only will the mehendi fade but your hands and feet will be super soft too!
5. Lemon Loving!
Cut a lemon in half and use the wedge to rub on your hands/ feet. The citric acid should help with the colour on your skin and accelerate the time it takes for it to fade!
6. Swimming Sessions Please
Chlorine will help to get the designs off your body – but if you don’t wish to dip your hands into a chemical-based solution then just go swimming! The chlorinated water in the pool will do the job.
7. The Toothpaste Trick
Take a good amount of toothpaste and apply it to your hands/ feet. Allow the mixture to dry before attempting to rub it off. It should take off most of the colour.
8. Sanitizer Is The Solution
Apply copious amounts of hand sanitizer over the desired area and allow it to sit before rubbing it in. Leave it over the mehendi for at least five minutes. Then take a cotton wool pad and some warm water and dab and rinse the area covered in sanitizer.

9. Sunbathing, Anyone?
The rays from the sun actually help fade the mehendi. So if you have been avoiding the outdoors it may be time to get outside and leave the rest to the Sun Gods!
10. Besan Is The Best
Make a besan mixture by adding 2 tbsps of besan to water. It should form a lumpy and textured mixture. Coat your hands/ feet with this mixture and let it dry. When it is visibly flaking off – try and rub off as much of it as you can with hot water.
