If I had to take a shot every time I went through Athiya Shetty’s feed admiring her bridal look, I’d be drunk for the next three days. She looked breathtaking, and TBH, I am still not over it! And just when I thought it couldn’t get better, she graced my feed with not one but two phenomenal looks. One from her muhurtham ceremony and second from her haldi function. Each one is so different yet exudes the same amount of simplicity and elegance. From her ensemble to her makeup, Athiya’s looks are the Pinterest mood board for all 2023 brides.
Athiya’s Muhurtham Ceremony Look
Radiating an ultimate royal vibe, Athiya is a vision in her silk saree and stunning traditional jewellery. Take a look:
A Regal Touch
For the ceremony, she went with a traditional hand-woven tissue Kanchivaram saree from Madhurya Creations. The drape featured a fuchsia pink pallu, that perfectly matched her rani pink blouse. Her saree was draped by celebrity drapist Nisha Desai. To complete her regal look, Athiya added a traditional South Indian choker, guttapusalu necklace, and matching earrings from Falguni Mehta.
Flawless Beauty
Her ceremony makeup was done by Simran Gidwani who kept it subtle and understated – a nude lip paired with a no-makeup makeup look. Athiya’s floral bun made sure to keep the limelight on her natural beauty. And I still can’t get over that kala tika behind her ear. Nazar na lage, indeed!
Athiya’s Haldi Ceremony Look
Her haldi ceremony looked just like a vintage affair. A subtle ivory anarkali, barely there makeup and minimal jewellery gave her bridal ensemble a minimalistic vibe.
The Art & The Artists
Athiya wore a vintage Ritu Kumar Elysian anarkali with a garara and odhni. The outfit is inspired by the royalty of Rajasthan from the 19th century.
Artisans of Phulia, Bengal, weaved this gorgeous piece with 200 counts of cotton muslin. I did some digging and discovered that the antique gold work on her outfit is hand embroidered and took nearly 2,000 man hours to complete. Truly a masterpiece!
Less Is More
I loved how Athiya went with minimal jewellery to let her royal outfit do all the talking. She added an oversized maangtikka from Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas that perfectly matched the vibe of her vintage outfit. Her dainty polki earrings from Shri Paramani Jewels were an understated yet classic touch to her look.
Bridal Beauty
Athiya’s minimal makeup was all about the glow and flushed cheeks. Simran Didwani, who did her muhurtham ceremony look, was roped in to do her dreamy haldi makeup as well. To add a hint of colour, she went with glossy red lips. Her loose curled hairstyle adorned with gajra completed her ensemble effortlessly.
This MyGlamm Treasure It Powder Blush will help you get Athiya’s rosy glow.
Both of Athiya’s looks were styled by celebrity stylist Ami Patel. I’m sure that this wedding will remain an inspiration for many brides-to-be.
Can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures from Athiya & KL Rahul’s wedding!
