After Gigi Hadid, Another International Model Wears A Saree & We Are Lovin’ It

With Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone representing top international brands, it’s evident that India is a major market for these luxury houses. And who better than the Ambani family to act as a catalyst? On the night of Oct 31, Reliance Industries unveiled the lavish Jio World Plaza in Mumbai, which will not only be India’s largest luxe mall but will also bring together over 20 International luxury brands under one roof. Needless to say, the event was nothing short of a dazzling spectacle. 

The grand opening was attended by numerous Bollywood stars who added an extra flair to the event with their oh-so-stylish presence. To mark the occasion, the Ambani family went a step further and hosted a mesmerising fashion show titled ‘The New Order Of Style’. It featured around eight Indian designers and 120 models. The designers got to showcase their exquisite collections along with transforming many celebrities into showstoppers. Among the star-studded lineup, it was the international supermodel Ashley Graham who unquestionably stole the spotlight, leaving the audience in awe.

The supermodel wore a saree for the first time! She wore a stunning ivory drape from SWADESH which was started by the Ambanis to promote our rich heritage and craftsmanship. Her saree was styled with a matching full-sleeved blouse and an oversized puffed-sleeved cape with a long train for that extra dose of drama. The exquisite jewels and the glamm makeup brilliantly pulled her whole look together.

We love how the event not only marked a milestone by bringing many luxury brands to India but also got an International model to wear our traditional drape. What a moment!
