Anushka Sharma Comes Out In Support After Zareen Khan Gets Trolled For Her Stretch Marks

The world of glitz and glamour is a hard one to crack. With cutthroat competition and people constantly trying to pull each other down, it becomes almost impossible to remain positive or even stay afloat in many ways. Let’s add to that the perils of social media where people think it’s absolutely okay to spew hatred and say hurtful things especially to celebrities. Women in the industry are particularly trolled for being too skinny, too fat, too muscular, too curvacious or too anything. It’s like there is so winning here.

Now, actor Zareen Khan has been trolled for putting up a photograph on Instagram where she’s seen flaunting her stretch marks.

The comments on the post were horrific with people calling names, body-shaming her and even insinuating that stretch marks were abnormal.

Not backing down and standing up to netizens who believe that it is their birthright to comment on women’s bodies, Zareen said, “For people who are very curious to know about what’s wrong with my stomach, this is the natural stomach of a person, who has lost 50 kgs of weight, this is how it looks when it is not photoshopped or surgically corrected.”

She even posted screenshots of some of the comments on her Instagram stories and proved a point that internet bullying would not be tolerated.

In the same breath, she also posted love for those fans who supported her in her decision to post an unedited photograph of herself.

Now, Anushka Sharma too has come out in support of Zareen Khan and it’s so inspiring to see women standing up for each other, that’s what we need more of.

More power to you Zareen! Maybe if more women like you share unedited, non-photoshopped pictures of their bodies on social media and embrace themselves with all their flaws and imperfections, the mindset of people will change. And as far as the trolls go, you know what Taylor Swift said, “Haters gonna hate!”
