Deepika & Anushka’s Reception Looks Prove That ‘Sabya’ Ka Phal Same Hota Hai!

Last night was Deepika and Ranveer’s Bengaluru reception. This was the first function they’ve hosted for their friends and family in India after a super private wedding that happened in Lake Como, Italy on 14-15 November. While we did get some pictures of the wedding, we missed out on all the impromptu wedding videos and madness. But with two more receptions coming up, we’re sure the couple will more than make up for it.

At yesterday’s reception, Deepika looked like a gold goddess in an Advaya pure zari Kanjeevaram silk saree from The House of Angadi. Just like her Konkani wedding saree, this saree too was gifted to her by her mom, Ujjala Padukone. And as they say, moms know best because DP was positively glowing in the saree.

She was styled by Sabyasachi and her look oddly reminded us of Anushka Sharma’s Delhi reception look who was styled by the same designer. The two actresses sported really similar looks, they were almost twinning. Here are the similarities we spotted!

1. Silk Sarees With High Neck Blouses

While Deepika was wearing a gold Kanjeevaram by The House of Angadi, Anushka was in a red Banarasi by Sabyasachi. But both of the sarees were silk with high neck blouses. The only difference though was the blouse sleeve length – Anushka was wearing an elbow length sleeve while Deepika wore full sleeves.

2. The Sindoor And Red Bindi

The most prominent part about both the ladies’ looks was the red sindoor. Instead of accessorizing the look with any jewellery like maang tikka or mathapatti, they chose the traditional Indian sindoor. The little red bindi enhanced their look further. 

3. The Pulled Back Bun With Gajra

With hair parted neatly in the middle, the two actresses had their tresses pulled back into a tight bun. Deepika and Anushka both chose to accessorise their buns with a gajra. Too many similarities!

4. The Chokers

With their high neck blouses, both of them wore statement neck pieces. Anushka chose a polki set with danglers complimenting her saree while Deepika wore an emerald choker with studs to contrast her simple saree. Both pieces of jewellery drew a lot of attention to their necks and faces.

5. Smokey Eye Look With Nude Lips

The makeup artists of both the brides did a wonderful job. Deepika had a gold smokey eye look with rust nude lips while Anushka had more of browns in her smokey eye look with a basic nude lipstick.
