Almost nine months after the death of her former boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput, actress Ankita Lokhande is still being subjected to incessant trolling. From vile, nasty and negative comments on all her social media posts, more of if she seems happy in them, the actress has faced it all. In fact, the actress’ relationship with Sushant and her grief has been questioned time and again by Sushant’s fans.
Ankita finally opened up about it all including the impact it has had on her parents and her mental health and our heart goes out to her. In an Instagram live session on Monday, Ankita shared that she received nasty and disgusting comments from people on her dance videos, reels and other such happy and positive posts. She then urged the haters to unfollow her if they have a problem with her. She further pointed out that such negativity does not affect her much as she is used to it, but her parents are not from the entertainment industry and are sensitive people. Ankita shared that her parents find it difficult to understand why their daughter receives so much uncalled for hate.
Pointing out that these haters question her relationship with Sushant, Ankita said that they don’t know enough to be making statements and pointing fingers. “No one has the rights to judge others relationships. All these people pointing fingers at me know nothing about my relationship. And if you cared and loved Sushant so much, so, why are you fighting now? Where were you when our relationship was ending?” asked the Manikarnika actress.
Ankita further said that she is being blamed now but she is not at fault. “I am not going to blame anyone but everyone has different motives and goals in life. Sushant always wanted to grow in his life and he went his way. How is that my fault? Why am I being abused for it? You don’t know my story, so stop blaming me. It is really hurtful,” said Ankita.
Opening up about her mental health, Ankita shared that she has also suffered from depression–she confessed has been in pain and cried her eyes out. She further shared that at her lowest point in life there was no one by her side other than her family and some fans who continue to stand by her to date. “I went through depression too but I never spoke about it. I was in a very bad state,” said the actress.
Ankita also shared that she wasn’t a part of Sushant’s life all these years when things went sideways and none of it is her fault. She also hit back at the haters and said that no one has the right to tell her who she should and shouldn’t maintain a relationship with.

For the unversed, Ankita and Sushant met and fell in love on the sets of Pavitra Rishta. In fact, Sushant had asked her out on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. The two were together for over six years before calling it quits in 2016. Later, on 14 June 2020, Sushant was found dead inside his Bandra apartment which was ruled a suicide by the investigating authorities.
Well, we stand by Ankita. It’s easy to hide behind the anonymity of the internet and spew hatred, but the truth is that you never fully know anything about someone else’s life. So next time, maybe respond with kindness when a celebrity shares something on social media. After all, we’re all human.
