Sharp lines, striking details, breathable fabric, and roomy silhouettes. Isn’t it nice when fashion understands our needs?
The first-ever phydigital edition of the FDCI X Lakme Fashion week came to end on a rather impactful note last night as designer Ruchira Sachdeva took over the ramp with her label Bodice. With its wearable design and striking details, the collection had us truly hooked and so did the finale showstopper, Ananya Panday who sauntered the stage in an accordion skirt and statement crop top. Here’s everything that we are loving about her distinctive separates and Bodice’s latest collection:
The Show Stopping Separates
Looking for a fresh wardrobe inspiration this season? Lakme Absolute Grand Finale showstopper Ananya Panday‘s Bodice separates are worth bookmarking. For FDCI X Lakme’s finale look, the actress was dressed in a colour block accordion skirt and a chic, butternut yellow crop top. A closer look and you’d be hooked to her elevated basics.
Ananya’s skirt featured pops of colours which is a Bodice trademark, seamless panelling, and the signature pleats from the brand. For her crop top, the pleats effectively transitioned into balloon sleeves thus tying the entire look together. She was given nude peep-toes and colour pop earrings to finish the look and Ananya did the rest with her confidence. We gotta admit, she did a pretty good job for a first-time finale showstopper!
We caught her backstage for a quick chat where Ananya expressed her excitement about being the finale showstopper for the phydigital fashion show. She also spoke about how she relates to Ruchira’s bold, modern aesthetics. “I really resonate with her style. She has a very bold design structure and has a story to tell with every design. It is a very unique style. When you see one of her pieces you know that she has designed it. And I love the pop of colours that she uses,” she added.
Wearable Fashion & Bodice’s Ultra Modern Collection
Lakme Absolute Grand Finale designer, Ruchira Sachdeva’s USP happens to be the understated flamboyance of her designs. They are like a manifestation of the modern woman’s sartorial desires captured effortlessly through clean lines and comfortable silhouettes. Smart, coherent, and well-packed, last night’s show was no different.
Titled “Ready Set Play” and inspired by Lakme’s Beauty theme #MiniPlayMegaSlay, the collection gave us a sneak peek into the other side of Indian fashion. While all this while, fashion show’s in India have heavily focussed on couture and festive clothing, it was a welcome change to see pret taking the centre stage.
With regular bursts of rust, magenta, and spectrum blues, the collection gave us a dynamic merger of blocks of lines and clean silhouettes. From flared summer pants to striking co-ord looks, the collection had it all and here’s a quick round-up of our favourite looks from the show:
Didn’t this fashion week end with a bang?
