Despite being only one film old, Ananya Panday is already slated to be Bollywood’s next ‘it’ girl. And according to media reports, the starlet already bagged her second role even before her first film was released. Marking her entry into Bollywood with Student Of The Year 2, Ananya will next be seen in Pati Patni Aur Woh.
The film is currently in production and also stars the national crush Kartik Aaryan and Bhumi Pednekar. And Ananya has also started shooting for Khaali Peeli opposite Ishaan Khatter. Talking about working on the remake of B R Chopra’s original Pati Patni Aur Woh, where Ananya will be reprising the role that was played by Ranjeeta, she said she had to put in a lot of preparation to play a character much older to her in age.
According to Ananya, she had to learn how to “slow down” and talk slowly for this role, because she has a habit of talking too fast. “There are a lot of pauses, reactions and there are a lot of scenes in the films where I am not even talking. I am just reacting to what other people and other characters are saying so that was more or less my prep for Pati Patni Aur Woh, working on moments more than just lines,” she said.
Look’s like Ananya’s finally stepping into ‘grown-up’ role after Student Of The Year 2. If you’re also transitioning into a ‘grown-up’ phase in your life, you should check out POPxo’s Adulting T-Shirt.
While you saw her portray a young, chirpy teenager in Student Of The Year 2, Ananya revealed that even that role didn’t come to her naturally. She admitted that while she is generally outspoken in front of her family and friends, she found it hard to do the same in front of the camera and film crew.
“He (Puneet Malhotra) worked a lot on just making me very uninhibited, opening me up, being loud and outspoken because that’s what my character was. That was mainly my prep for SOTY 2 more than lines,” she said.
Ananya’s movie Pati Patni Aur Woh is slated to hit the silver screen on December 6 this year. We can’t wait to see her in this new avatar–how about you?
