Soft, plump, smooth… that was the skin I was born with! All these years, I’ve never stepped out without a liberal dose of moisturiser and sunscreen on my face and neck. And this did seem to work for a while…until I stepped into my thirties. Slowly, I noticed the creeping up of fine lines around my eyes. Where earlier I would recover from any skin mishaps, like breakouts, within days, now I see blemishes that persisted. I had always taken my skin’s health for granted and this was not pleasant news. So when Olay approached me to sample their Regenerist range of anti-ageing creams, I was in! They promised that I’d see the difference from the very first week and this was a challenge I would definitely accept.
Week 1: Assessing the damage
Anti-ageing creams are for moms and aunts, right? After all, my energy levels aren’t down in any way and I don’t even look old. So what if I now had blemishes on my skin, the pollution must be taking its toll. This is where the experts at Olay set me right. With every year, our skin’s capacity to create a new layer – basically, regenerate – reduces. So, every morning, I washed my face with Olay Regenerist Regenerating Cleanser. It works by gently scrubbing away the dead skin cells on the surface without drying the skin. I’d follow this up with a liberal massaging in of Olay Regenerist Regenerating Serum on my face, especially around the eyes, nose, corners of the lips and jawline. I didn’t expect it but after a week of this morning regimen, my skin certainly looked fresher. Hmmm, maybe there was something here after all.
Week 2: It’s a fine line
…And it was disappearing! Since I love moisturisers, and unfortunately possess dry skin, I never stepped out without massaging in Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream. A couple of days later I noticed that my skin was softer. In fact, glycerin and amino-peptides in the cream hydrate at an intra-cellular level, to refresh the skin from within. I slowly came to accept that there might be something to Olay Regenerist after all. An anti-aging product finally working.
Week 3: Time to change
All these years I had never given much thought to night-time moisturisation. So when handed a jar of Olay Regenerist Revitalising Night Cream Moisturiser, I was not fully convinced it would do anything for me. After all, I’m just going to sleep! Yet as the month wore on, I would reverse this notion too. Every morning I woke up with soft skin. There was no more dryness, no itching. I no longer needed a concealer to mask dark spots or a foundation to even my skin tone! The anti-ageing cream was indeed working wonders.
Week 4: The zeal of the converted
I was in a groove now and a grudging believer in the concept of regeneration. These weeks had upped my skin’s ability to both sustain pollution and (ahem) bad habits, and also bounce back from it extremely quickly.
Olay Regenerist has actually sorted my life when it comes to my skin – I need less makeup and I look fresher all day. The best part? I didn’t invasive skin treatments or visits to a clinic to brush away fine lines! If only a month can have this effect…I’m not breaking this habit any time soon! It is definitely the best anti-ageing cream ever.
