If you happen to be one of those ardent Bigg Boss fans who have watched almost all the seasons of the show, then you’d know this platform can legit change lives and careers. However, as we discuss these Ex-Bigg Boss contestants, we can’t help but wonder what are all the Bigg Boss winners doing right now or whether or not they managed to sustain the fame. Did we get you wondering as well? Well, we also got you covered and looked up all the BB winners to find out how did they fare career-wise post the big win. Scroll down:
Season 13: Sidharth Shukla
Then: From his appearance as the eligible bachelor Angad in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania to his crackling chemistry with co-star Rashami Desai in Dil Se Dil Tak, Sidharth Shukla was quite a big deal post his Balika Vadhu days. However, things went effectively downhill for the actor post a controversial ending of Dil Se Dil Tak, his disputes with Rashami, and the subsequent drug-abuse rumours. Sidharth entered the Bigg Boss house with the aim to undo all of that and in fact won the show after a series of hits and misses along his journey.
Now: Clearly, Sidharth’s biggest takeaway from the show was the super hit jodi of #Sidnaaz that made Bigg Boss 13 the most hit season in the show’s history. Bigg Boss 13 concluded when the pandemic had already started and we are yet to see where Sidharth ends up from here. But, he is certainly going to be a big part of Bigg Boss 14 and that’s something to look forward to, right?
Season 12: Dipika Kakkar
Then: After a long trail of reality TV shows that could not match up to her Sasural Simar Ka success, Dipika entered the Bigg Boss house quoting financial reasons and with the dream of reviving her career. The actor won many hearts for her graceful persona and her camaraderie with fellow contestant Sreesanth.
Now: She was recently seen in the really refreshing role of Sonakshi Rastogi in the recently concluded Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum. We look forward to her career path from here on.
Season 11: Shilpa Shinde
Then: Shilpa was undergoing a highly unnerving phase of being absolutely banned in the TV industry after quitting Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai! when she entered the house to tell her story to the world. To her surprise, her arch-rival and allegedly the person behind her ban, Vikas Gupta also entered the Bigg Boss 11 house with her. It was a really interesting season with the two often locking horns on the screen.
Now: However, Shilpa hasn’t been able to cash her Bigg Boss success in the TV world after the win. She recently quit Gangs of Filmistan after shooting just one episode and quoting favoritism issues behind her decision.
Season 10: Manveer Gurjar
Then: Manveer entered the Bigg Boss 10 house as a commoner, won a lot of appreciation for showing great personal growth in the journey, and created history by becoming the first non-celeb winner of the show. Before Bigg Boss, Manveer was managing his family business in Noida.
Now: Post Bigg Boss, Manveer was also seen in Khatron Ke Khiladi but could not go too far in the show. Since then, he hasn’t made a lot of appearances on the small screen.
Season 9: Prince Narula
Then: Prince Narula’s ambitious reality TV journey started with Roadies 12, a show that turned out to be an easy win for the zealous contestant. Soon after he was seen at MTV Splitsvilla season 8. Interestingly, the show had not even stopped airing on MTV when Prince entered the Bigg Boss 9 house. Clearly, the year 2015 was a major one for Prince as he ended up winning everyone’s reality show that he entered including Roadies, Splitsvilla, and Bigg Boss.
Now: The Roadies journey that started as a contestant for Prince saw a drastic turn. He came back to the next installment Roadies 13 as a gang leader, a position that he has maintained to date. He has also made an appearance on Bado Bahu, Laal Ishq, and Naagin 3 in key roles. He is currently the undisputed champion of the reality show format. He won Nach Baliye with Yuvika Chowdhary last year and has been invited to a number of reality shows as a guest.
Season 8: Gautam Gulati
Then: Gautam already had an illustrious TV career to flaunt including shows like Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki, Kasamh Se, Tujh Sang Preet Lagayi Sajna, Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani, CID (Indian TV series), and Diya Aur Baati Hum when he entered the Bigg Boss 8 house. Also, the actor really emerged out to be a hero in every sense of the word during his Bigg Boss journey and was bound to win given how popular he got due to the show.
Now: After Bigg Boss, Gautam has been working very selectively with hosting reality shows and movies as his prime focus. He has hosted MTV Big F and Mujhse Shaadi Karoge and also made appearances in films like Darpok, Siddhartha- The Buddha, Azhar, Behen Hogi Teri, Virgin Bhanupriya, and would also be seen in Salman Khan starrer Radhe this year.
Season 7: Gauhar Khan
Then: In all honesty, Gauhar was quite a star when she entered the Bigg Boss 7 house and had already made significant appearances in films like Ishaqzaade, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, and Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year. To add to it, she had also done reality shows like Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3 and The Khan Sisters, made on her own life.
Now: Post her Bigg Boss success, Gauhar has made appearances on a plethora of reality shows and keeps coming back to Bigg Boss for guest appearances. She’s also going to be an integral part of Bigg Boss 14, the details of which are yet to be revealed.
Season 6: Urvashi Dholakia
Then: It was sort of a big deal when the OG Komolika of the Indian TV entered the Bigg Boss 6 house and took everyone by the storm. Till then regarded a vampy character, Urvashi really did transform her image in the house while managing to win the trophy.
Now: However, apart from a juicy role in Chandrakanta — Ek Mayavi Prem Gaatha, the actress has not really been seen in any major productions post that. That said, she does make frequent guest appearances in the Bigg Boss house.
Season 5: Juhi Parmar
Then: Just like Shweta, Juhi too entered the Bigg Boss house at a rather low point in her life when the news of her divorce was being extensively circulated and the actress was going through an overall career low.
Now: It remained mostly dry for Juhi for a long time post her Big Boss win with almost no significant projects. However, recently she has been seen in shows like Tantra and Hamari Wali Good News and seems to be doing alright for the moment.
Season 4: Shweta Tiwari
Then: One of the biggest TV stars to date, Shweta was navigating a personal crisis when she entered the Bigg Boss 10 house in 2014. Her broken marriage had been made into a huge drama all thanks to her ex-husband Raja Chaudhary. However, the actress did manage to revive both her spirits as well as her career with a rather admirable Bigg Boss journey.
Now: The actress did a plethora of reality shows post her Bigg Boss win and also bagged an enviable role in the hit show Parvarrish – Kuchh Khattee Kuchh Meethi. She is currently seen in Mere Dad Ki Dulhan as Guneet Sikka and doing a pretty good job at it.
Season 3: Vindu Dara Singh
Then: With the powerful name of ace wrestler Dara Singh attached to his name, Vindu has had a rather underwhelming career trajectory with only negative roles to show when he entered the Bigg Boss 3 house. And to a lot of people’s surprise, he also ended up winning the season.
Now: While a positive change was observed in his career trajectory post his Bigg Boss win, Vindu couldn’t really sustain the accolades and things got especially worse after his name dropping in the 2013 IPL betting scandal. That said, Vindu still makes guest appearances on Bigg Boss and was seen aggressively supporting Sidharth Shukla in Season 13.
Season 2: Ashutosh Kaushik
Then: Ashutosh Kaushik was mostly known as the dhaba owner from Roadies 5 until he entered the Bigg Boss 2 house despite the fact that he had in fact won MTV’s reality show. However, the show gave him the platform to showcase his talent as an actor and he also ended up winning the trophy.
Now: Post Bigg Boss, Ashutosh skipped the small screen to live his filmy dreams and was especially appreciated for his role in Zila Ghaziabad. He was last seen in Chal Jaa Bapu and has been shooting for other projects currently. That said, the Bigg Boss stint really did chisel the actor out of him and catalysed his acting journey.
Bigg Boss Season1: Rahul Roy
Now: Aashiqui fame Rahul Roy had sort of become history when he first entered the Bigg Boss 1 house. However, his journey soon sent the nation into a flashback zone as he became one of the most popular contestants on the show and then ended up winning India’s very first season of Bigg Boss.
Now: Roy’s Bigg Boss success helped him get guest slots in a number of reality shows. However, he has hardly done any major projects in the past decade, and seems like hasn’t really managed to cash his Bigg Boss fame.
So fam, which one of these Bigg Boss winners happens to be your favourite?
