Right at the get-go, you know Alia Bhatt is a skincare and beauty junkie. Her YouTube attests to it, and Alia gives credit where it’s due – to her sister Shaheen! Time and again, she’s talked about how her sister introduced her to skincare and helped her figure out what products work for her skin type, just fuelling the obsession.
So much so that it’s her favourite thing to do in her downtime. But if Alia has picked up so much from her sister, it only makes sense that she’s also picked up something from her mother, right? Apparently not! Read on to find out what we’re talking about.
Alia Bhatt Learnt Not To Do This From Her Mother
In a video for Vogue, Alia Bhatt shared her entire skincare and makeup routine – products and all. “My goal is to basically look like I have no makeup on,” she says while prepping her skin and revealing her go-to products. The trick to keeping it natural? Pick tones like pinks and browns that highlight the skin and don’t draw too much attention. A look very unlike her mother Soni Razdan! Growing up, Alia’s reference point for her makeup was undoubtedly her mother, ” She would overline her eyes a lot with kajal,” Alia said recollecting that she’d often ask her mum why she did that! “I have to, I have tiny eyes,” her mother would retort.
But what Alia took away from that was that she didn’t need to do too much. “I don’t put eyeliner, I believe I have hooded eyes,” she says adding that her intention is to only open out her eyes with shades of pinks and browns.
Not just that, to further open up her eyes, Alia uses whatever eyeshadow on her lids at the bottom of her eyes as well to line them and give the illusion of bigger eyes.
To get that natural look, Alia first dabs the Pro Longwear Paint Pot Cream Eyeshadow from MAC Cosmetics, which is a creamy colour base.
She then goes over it with a mix of pinks from the Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette – one that she vouches for and has used for years!
While Alia doesn’t seem to love the dark kajal look (even though she pulls it off so well), it’s here to stay and we love it. But it’s also safe to stay minimal glamm is in and Alia stans!
