Alia Bhatt Is All Set To Add ‘Kapoor’ To Her Name & The Reason Is Too Cute To Handle

Ever since Alia Bhatt tied the knot with Ranbir Kapoor and announced her pregnancy soon after, fans have been on the internet waiting for even the tiniest update on their fave couple. From awaiting the release of their film Brahmastra to Alia’s uber-cool maternity wear looks, we’re obsessed with the two! The latest update for #RanAlia fans is that Alia Bhatt is all set to add her husband’s surname to her name! 

TBH, adding your husband’s surname right after your maiden name is a trend that was started by Kareena Kapoor after she changed her name to Kareena Kapoor Khan in 2012. She was then followed by Bipasha Basu Singh Grover, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Now, it looks like Alia Bhatt Kapoor is ready to join the club too and she’s gonna make the change sooner than you think! 

In a recent conversation, Alia revealed that while her screen name will always be Alia Bhatt, she will be soon changing her name officially to Alia Bhatt Kapoor. She spoke about updating her name on her passport and said, “I am happy to do it.” The actress added, “I’ve been planning about making the change for quite some time now. But I didn’t get the time because of working and travelling.” Her doting husband Ranbir Kapoor has promptly changed his marital status on his passport. 

Another reason why the Darlings actress wants to change her name is because of FOMO. Yes, you heard that right! Alia said, “We are going to have a child now. I don’t want to be the Bhatt, whilst the Kapoors are travelling together; you know what I mean? I don’t want to feel left out. I am and always will be Alia Bhatt. And now I am also a Kapoor.” 

Whether she is Alia Bhatt or Alia Bhatt Kapoor, we love her either way!
