Recently, at the success party of Kangana Ranaut’s latest release, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Kangana addressed media how “irresponsible” it is of some actors in Bollywood who steer clear of politics and have no opinion about the state of their own country. She called out actor Ranbir Kapoor among others (Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt to name a few) criticising them for the same.
Now Ranbir’s girlfriend and Brahmastra co-star Alia Bhatt has responded to Kangana’s comment in a very polite way. In a recent interview, Alia was questioned by a journalist about Kangana’s remark. Here is a video clip of the actress’ response.

Alia said, “Listen, I definitely don’t have that ability to speak as candidly as Kangana does and I really, really respect her for that. And maybe, in a way, she is right that sometimes we do hold back. Kyunki hum nahi chahte ki… or maybe you know that you feel like ki kyun khamakha bolna. My dad always says ki there are already so many opinions in the world, the world can do with one less opinion. So, I have an opinion but I’ll keep it to myself. But kudos to her because she genuinely speaks really well.” Well, how about that!
This isn’t the first time that Alia and Kangana had a run at each other. In the recent past, Kangana took a dig at Alia and called her Karan Johar’s puppet asking her to grow a spine. Alia replied to this comment by saying she didn’t do anything to deserve the backlash. And this is after Alia had personally apologised to Kangana for upsetting her during Manikarnika screening.
Here’s what the Queen actress said about Ranbir:

While Kangana chooses to be politically aware and expects celebrities like Alia and Ranbir who are influencers on a national level to do likewise, they just like to keep their opinions to themselves. What do you think about this war of words?
