This move caused a stir for two main reasons: first, it’s rare to see celebrities repeat an outfit, and second, bridal outfits are rarely seen outside of the wedding setting. Yet, Alia defied the norm. And now, she’s done it again.
At Manish Malhotra’s star-studded Diwali bash last night, celebrities flaunted their impeccable fashion choices. From Shalini Passi to Varun Dhawan, everyone made sure to dress their best. However, Alia took it up a notch by re-wearing her mehendi outfit. And it was a masterpiece by none other than Manish Malhotra himself.
The lehenga is a breathtaking creation, features 180 textile patches, and intricate Kashmiri and chikankari threadwork, and took nearly 3,000 hours to complete. For her mehendi ceremony that took place in April 2022, Alia paired the ensemble with a striking green maangtikka and necklace set. However, For the MM Diwali bash, she gave it a fresh twist, opting for oversized baalis and a low, messy bun.
While it is not uncommon for us desis to repeat our outfits, it’s surely refreshing to see celebrities doing the same thing.
