Sorry Trolls, Alia Bhatt Has No Problem Being Called ‘Dumb’ & We Love Her IDGAF Attitude!

In a time of social media and memes, even the tiniest mistake is scrutinised and made fun of, especially when you are a celebrity. Over the years, many stars have been trolled for their little goof-ups and Alia Bhatt is no different. The Highway star has been often called ‘dumb’ and ‘unintelligent’ by the trolls but Alia has the best way to brush off these rude remarks.
In a recent interview, Alia opened up on social media trolling, memes and the constant scrutiny she faces as an actor. She shared, “I will be honest, I love it when people think I am unintelligent or ‘oh she is so dumb’. I genuinely do, because firstly, they make so many memes on me, which adds to the popularity and you are loving my movies. So, they might think that ‘ok she is dumb’ but I am still part of the movies, so I must be doing something possibly right within the movie business. I may not have the other side of it.”
Alia added that she believes that knowledge and intelligence are not just limited to books but there are many ways in which one can be smart. The actress said, “I think I want to put out this message to young girls that intelligence is purely – and I don’t mean this in an offensive way that general knowledge, book intelligence, in my opinion, is not intelligence. That (bookish) intelligence is something, that is part of the layer but actually, to survive in a world, you have to have a certain emotional intelligence, which is possibly the highest form of intelligence, because that makes you take some decisions.”
NGL, we agree with Alia wholeheartedly! Intelligence comes in different shapes and forms and it should be celebrated in all of its glory. People tend to forget that celebs, like us, can make mistakes and they shouldn’t be penalised for life for it.
It is hella impressive how Alia deals with trolls in an almost saintly manner. All we can think right now is—teach us your wisdom, sensei!
