A Faux Pas In Airport Look? Here’s Why Alia Bhatt’s Monochrome Look Failed To Deliver
Seems like it was just yesterday when we were rooting for Alia Bhatt’s uber-cool airport look, oh wait, it WAS yesterday. Well, to give you a lowdown, the actress really hit the right sartorial notes with her fashion choices and that was that. Now returning from Goa, where she was off to yesterday with beau Ranbir Kapoor to support his professional football team Mumbai City FC, the actress worked another airport look.
Alia Bhatt’s Airport Look 2.0
Did it work or not? We got some thoughts. Scroll to take a look at what she wore and how.
Monochrome Gone Haywire
For her airport look 2.0, Alia Bhatt chose to wear a head-to-toe pink look. The monochrome appearance included a no-fuss sweatshirt with a zipper on the shoulder. Accompanying it were joggers in a slightly varied but almost unnoticeable shade of the colour. So far so good? But not taking the minimal route, the Bollywood actress added a pair of bright pink kicks to the look too and from there on it sort of fell apart, a faux pas if you may. The joggers and the sneakers almost merged together, leaving no space for highlighting either and making it a rather underwhelming look.
Would the separates have worked in a slightly different setting? We sure think so, considering the colour being a vibrant and striking one. A solid colour to balance the overall look would have turned out impeccably but while styling a monochrome outfit too, there are certain factors that can be incorporated for a fail-safe appearance. Continue reading to find out more about them.
Getting It Right
So what goes behind putting together a foolproof monochrome look? Here are some factors you can keep in mind:
—Experiment with tones in the same colour to create a balanced look. You don’t have to go too far from the original colour scheme; a shade or two apart tends to work perfectly.
—Introduce texture and prints that gel in for an elevated look.
—If you are looking at layering your monochrome pick, adding a solid neutral colour to the mix keeps it rooted, ensuring that your outfit doesn’t fall flat.
—Accessorise! We have talked endlessly about how a cool accessory can make a huge difference and the same holds true when you are working a H2T number; don’t go overboard with it but don’t miss out on it either.
Speaking of accessories, Alia Bhatt’s tinted shades and chic sling bag were worth taking notes from. If you are planning to try out some sartorial styling tips for head-to-toe colour dressing, don’t forget to be on-point with your beauty look too.
