Beauty In Simplicity! Alia Bhatt’s Crimson Sabyasachi Is The Wedding Essential That Every Bride Needs
This time last week, we were almost certain that Alia Bhatt will opt for scarlet bridal finery just like every other Sabyasachi bride. The actress, however, turned out to be a surprise package. She embraced a pristine palette and graced our feed in her ivory-gold saree complete with dreamy details and butterfly accents. For her mehendi ceremony, Alia went for an equally minimal upcycled lehenga made from scraps of weaves, fabrics, and embroideries from all over the country. The actress literally picked up an heirloom outfit that as her stylist Ami Patel says will be “preserved, loved, and passed down to the next generation.”
As apparent, Alia’s wedding outfits come from a commitment to personal style and have a lot of emotional significance embedded in them. In other words, she has dressed up as the girl next door aka the quintessential Indian bride that every girl and woman can associate with. This explains why everyone is loving Alia’s bridal avatar so much. Earlier today we got a proper glimpse of her red Sabyasachi ensemble that she changed into after the wedding ceremony and this one abides by the aesthetic as well. Here’s everything we love about Alia’s red anarkali look:
Alia Bhatt’s Post Wedding Fit
As fun and vibrant as they are, weddings happen to be equally exhausting. This applies especially well in the case of the bride and bridegroom. Between the never-ending rituals and heavy clothes, you wear out in no time. This is why Indian brides sometimes slip into something lighter once they are done with the wedding ceremony and pheras. Alia did the very same. Once done with all the rituals, she slipped into a crimson Sabyasachi anarkali that has our hearts at the moment. Strikingly simple, the outfit has our attention for metres and metres of clean fabric. The set comprises a sleeveless kurti, chooridaar, and matching dupatta. The only embellishments that we spot are on the reversible dupatta that features a Banarasi border on one side and a marori work border on the other.
Alia hasn’t taken off her bridal choora but has switched from the seeshphool to a kundan maang tikka for this look. We love the touch of sindoor and how it is tying the entire ensemble together. Safe to say that this is one of the most charming post-wedding outfits that we have ever spotted on a celeb bride. It is simple, organic, and untouched by any frills or drama. It is the kind of look that you can only ace when you have a clear vision of yourself as a bride and have full confidence in your style.
Alia has killed it!
Here’s a suit by Gulabo Jaipur that you can explore to re-create the look:
