Def Copying Alaya F’s Waist Up Look While We Say ‘No, Thanks’ To Bicycle Shorts Pairing

2020, a drab year? Well, yes! 2020, the worst year? Quite certainly. But didn’t someone wise say that every dark cloud has a silver lining? Well, hard to comment otherwise but in the fashion department, 2020 had quite a number of upsides. And what would they be, you ask? The rise of sustainable fashion and the reign of athleisure are there to name a few. But wait, here’s the biggest of them all: if you look closely, none of the fall/winter 2019 or spring/summer 2020 trends go away this year. 

Staying homebound, most people took the year to reflect and restrict themselves fashionwise and especially in the outdoor department. Thus, while a lot of lingerie and loungewear were finished off the racks (online racks to be more precise), the bermuda shorts and oversized blazers from last season stayed very much in vogue this year as well. Quite an apt observation, right? Thank us later because for now, we present to you Alaya F who recently rocked the oversized blazer with bralette trend, a style that went big on the Jacquemus Spring/Summer 2020 runway and continues to stay trendy.

Clean lines, sharp lapels, and shoulder pads for days? Well make it oversized and we’ll come running to claim that blazer! All the better if it is done in a neutral hue just like Alaya’s beige beauty. Here is a blazer that is versatile, trendy, and super statement. Why would anyone say “no”? 

The Risque Bralette? Gimme!

Let’s give it to Tanya Ghavri for curating this lacy bralette and putting it in the right place i.e. along with that oversized blazer and on Alaya’s yoga fed structure! Gradient colours nicely accentuated with contrasting silhouettes? That’s some A+ styling! Well, don’t know about you but we aren’t getting over the oversized blazer with bralette pairing anytime soon. 

The Cycle Shorts? A Stretch!

Okay so, oversized blazer? A win! The lacy bralette? Again, a definite win! The sports shorts pairing? We have a feeling that it could have gone better in the bottom wear department. Okay, don’t get us wrong. We know that oversized blazers and solid shorts are a wardrobe staple that models tend to rock all the time for their off-duty looks. And that’s the deal: it’s super basic like that. We just feel that here, in Alaya’s case the pairing could have been a little different, a little novel, a little chicer. What’s your take?
