Ramadan would be incomplete without Baba Siddique’s annual star-studded Iftar party! The celebration was held this year at the Taj Lands End in Bandstand, Mumbai, and was attended by the greatest stars in Bollywood and the television business. All of the celebrities were seen dressed in the most beautiful traditional garb, but it appears that a few managed to irritate the netizens, who are fairly easy to offend.
The internet trolls found their latest victims at the Iftar party in actresses who apparently showed “too much of themselves” at a traditional event.
Pooja Hegde
The Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan actress arrived at the event in a stunning black saree. The ruffled saree was drenched in shimmer and was draped over a bralette-style blouse with an open back. Netizens clearly disapproved of this attire, calling it “inappropriate” for an Iftar celebration. TBH, Pooja Hegde carried the saree with grace and looked anything but vulgar in it.
Palak Tiwari
Palak Tiwari, who is slated to make her debut with Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, recently made headlines for claiming that Salman Khan does not allow women to wear revealing clothes on his sets. Now, she is currently being chastised for wearing “a revealing neckline” at Baba Siddique’s Iftar party. Palak wore a grey lehenga with mirror work that was paired with a bralette-style blouse. It was the blouse’s plunging neckline that irked the trolls. She was criticised for appearing to have come for an “item song performance” rather than an Iftar feast.
Debina Bonnerjee
TV actress Debina Bonnerjee also faced the wrath of the trolls after attending Baba Siddique’s Iftar party. The actress looked stunning in a pleated gold salwar suit with spaghetti straps. It turns out that not only a steep neckline but also the lack of sleeves, can offend netizens. The trolls slammed her clothing as “horrible” and claimed she failed to understand the dress code. Some even went so far as to body shame her for gaining weight. The woman has delivered two kids, one after the other. Give her a break!
It has almost become impossible for celebrities to even step out without being criticized or mocked. There’s a thin line between pointing out fashion faux pas and being plain nasty. The trolls really need to calm down!
