You want to know what’s the best way to pass time when you have nothing else to do? Binge watch your mother’s fave TV soap with her. Trust me, it’s entertaining as hell! Gossiping about the characters, discussing alternate plot lines or just enjoying the show is a whole lotta fun. Want to know my mom’s fave TV series that we often watch together? It’s gotta be Pavitra Rishta. There is something so special about Manav and Archana’s love story and the way they fought against the world to be together. Maybe that’s the reason why it still remains one of the most popular soaps even after all these years.
So why are we discussing Pavitra Rishta? It’s because the show that made Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande popular household names is finally coming back with a 2.0 version. A little birdie told us that the concept of the show is locked and the producer, Ekta Kapoor, has moved on to the casting of the show.
We bet you’re curious about the actors who would be portraying the role of Manav and Archana. A source close to the development said, “Shaheer Sheikh has come on board Pavitra Rishta 2.0 to portray the iconic character of Manav. Ankita will be back to play Archana again after 7 long years. The other cast members will be locked soon.” Thank god the makers didn’t replace Ankita! It would be tough to imagine anyone else playing the role of Archana, right?
Oh BTW, the sequel has been in the works since last year. Ekta and Ankita decided to spin a sequel in July last year and it took them more than a year to finalise the perfect script. Whoa, hopefully that means the script’s gonna be amazing!
Pavitra Rishta 2.0 will reportedly be Ekta’s tribute to Sushant and Ankita’s legacy and the show will premiere on an OTT platform.
Gotta say we’re really excited for the sequel, and plus it’ll be a treat to watch Shaheer and Ankita together on-screen. Here’s hoping we get a release date ASAP!
