Be An Embodiment Of Grace In Your Mom’s Saree
Author’s Own
This one was literally a saviour. I had a cousin’s wedding to attend and almost no time to plan my outfit. So, guess what I did next? Raided my mumma’s wardrobe of course and what I found was a pure gem. You won’t believe- this dual-toned rich silk saree that you can see me draped in is from three decades (30 years) ago! Yes, you read that right. It was gifted to her by my maternal grandmother while she was getting married. Not only is it beautiful, but holds a lot of emotional value.
Okay, coming back to the saree, it’s a double-shade of grey with black and orange embroidery that add just the right amount of pop to the six-yards. I chose to wear it with a black boat neck Zara top, made a slick bun and completed the look with nude lip colour and kundan jhumkas.

Mom’s Suit: A Go-To At All Times
POPxo
This beautiful pink suit worn by Anandita is her mom’s! And, the bright colours are doing their trick without much makeup or accessories. Not just that, there’s an interesting tale behind this one.
“My mother got this suit made for my cousin’s wedding, it was one of those ghar ka function outfits and she looked like bright sunshine in it. The pink and orange was bright and vibrant and added some much needed colour to the wintery afternoon. I then got the suit altered to fit my size, threw on a pair of heels and some pink bangles and wore it for a Diwali party I was hosting.”

Bored Of Your Blazers? Try Mom’s!
POPxo
Girls, it is not just ethnic wear that you can borrow from your mom’s closet, you can grab those elegant blazers too. Here’s telling you how to style them.
“Oversized blazers are a big thing in the streets of fashion. But instead of going to my dad, I raid my mom’s closet for that Hailey Beiber-approved look. I love styling my mom’s blazer with jeans and combat boots as it gives me the right amount of bagginess especially around the shoulders. Result? I end up looking better in her’s than in my own. Sometimes, I steal her jackets too and cinch them with a belt for a casual chic look.”

Oversized Cardigans Are A Thing!
POPxo
All the H&M and Zara pullovers have a very peculiarly similar pattern. So if you wish to stand out with the cardigan that you choose to put on, simply wear your mom’s!
“I’m donning my mother’s cardigan here which I have been eyeing for a while. Why? ‘Cause it’s filled with beautiful colours and feels like a breath of fresh air. I picked it up from her closet and styled it with a full-sleeved black top. I paired the look high-waisted bell-bottom jeans and accessorised it with a pink belt.”

When Mumma’s Shawl Comes To The Rescue
POPxo
We all love our mom’s shawls. From the motherly warmth they provide to the unique designs which we can’t really find anywhere else, they are definitely a go-to. And the best part? You can style them in multiple ways.
“My mom has an amazing collection of shawls and this particular pashmina was purchased from Kashmir almost 15 years ago. It has been with me since I moved out of my hometown almost a decade ago and while I have purchased a plethora of shawls and stoles post that, nothing even comes close to its soft weaves and the emotional value that it retains for me. Coming back to the look, I thought of styling the shawl instead of just draping it around me, as the winter is beginning to wane. I made asymmetrical pleats with the shawl and cinched it with a belt to make for the perfect outfit.”
