5 Desi Celebrities Who Faced A Wardrobe Malfunction On The Runway

As easy as it might appear, walking the ramp is not for the weak-hearted. You need to maintain a confident stride while wearing uncomfortable shoes and complicated garments. There is so much that can go wrong including wardrobe malfunctions. And these mishaps are more common than you’d think. From Kangana Ranaut to Malaika Arora, here’s a list of actresses and supermodels who had wardrobe malfunctions on the ramp.

Nargis Fakhri

In 2014, Nargis Fakhri walked the ramp for the jewellery brand Azva during the Indian Bridal Fashion Week. The Rockstar actress wore a black gown that featured a plunging neckline and a thigh-high slit. Her look was completed with a stunning choker. She suffered a wardrobe malfunction when her slit opened up even further. Talking about the same, the actress said, “Nothing happened. Someone just stepped on my dress and I started laughing. I laugh a lot when I am nervous.”

Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut walked for designer Gavin Miguel at the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour in 2012. She was dressed in a white strapless dress with the bodice covered in feathers. The bottom part of the dress was made of a sheer fabric with glittery stripes. However, the actress exposed more than she intended to as the opaque part of the dress was tinier than anticipated and ended just above her bum. 

Carol Gracias

In 2006, Indian supermodel Carol Gracias made headlines after suffering a wardrobe malfunction. Carol was part of Lakme Fashion Week and walked the ramp for Sahgall’s debut appearance. While walking, Carol’s halter neck dress came undone and exposed her chest. The model froze for a moment but gathered the top with her hand and strutted away without losing her confidence. 

Gauahar Khan

Right after Carol, Model-turned-actress Gauahar Khan was also caught in an embarrassing moment at a fashion show while walking for designer Lascelle Symons. For the show, Gauahar wore a golden strapless corset top and a black fitted skirt. Everything was going well when suddenly her skirt got ripped from the zipper area and exposed her butt. Gauahar still continued to walk gracefully while trying to hide the slit.  

Malaika Arora

The OG fashionista Malaika Arora almost suffered a wardrobe malfunction on the ramp while walking as a showstopper at a charity event. She wore a strapless grey dress. However, it kept on slipping while Malaika was walking the ramp. But she handled the situation like a boss and strutted down the ramp with confidence.   

As I said, ramp walk is no cakewalk!
