4 DIYs For A Flake-Free Scalp This Monsoon

Dandruff is a big issue that can only lead to more hair trouble. So, if you’ve got dandruff right now, I bet you’re looking for any means to get rid of it ASAP.

If you ignore dandruff, you’re also putting yourself at risk of losing lots of hair. And you can’t forget the general discomfort and itchiness associated with these flakes. So naturally you need to get rid of dandruff right away, and these natural DIY home remedies are just what you’ve been looking for.

Soothing Dandruff Cleansing Gel

Dandruff can make your scalp feel itchy and irritated and a soothing dandruff cleansing gel like this is just perfect to clear up the flakes. You will need to mix 3 tablespoons of aloe vera gel with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 vitamin E capsules and a half a teaspoon of baking soda. Massage the mixture on your scalp and wash it off with shampoo and conditioner after 30 minutes.

Aloe vera gel is great for soothing itchiness and will give you instant relief from dandruff and I like to use the Organic Harvest Organic Aloevera Gel With Saffron Extract for this DIY.

Onion Oil Treatment

This DIY Onion infused oil recipe also contains other natural ingredients that will make dandruff leave your scalp quickly. Add 3 tablespoons of coconut oil, half chopped onion, 1 tablespoon sandalwood powder and a pinch of turmeric. Mix this and place the bowl in a larger bowl that contains warm water for 15 minutes. The mixture will get heated and the ingredients will get infused in the liquid. Strain the liquid and apply it on your scalp. Rinse with shampoo after 2 hours.

This power-packed anti-dandruff oil infusion is great for washing off dandruff and keeping the scalp clean and clear. I like to rinse of this DIY oil with a clarifying shampoo like the St. Botanica Anti-Dandruff Pre-Biotic Shampoo.

DIY Clarifying Shampoo

Sometimes you need a good clarifying shampoo to remove dandruff and any oil treatment or home remedy you used to fight dandruff but you just can’t find it. That’s when this DIY comes in handy. You can make any shampoo into a clarifying shampoo by adding 3 to 4 pumps of any shampoo in a bowl and then mix in two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and a few drops of tea tree oil. Add some water to this mix to dilute it a bit and then wash your hair as usual with it.

The tea tree oil used in this recipe is what makes it so effective in fighting dandruff and it also leaves a minty feel on the scalp. I like to use the St. Botanica Tea Tree Pure Aroma Essential Oil in my DIYs.

Curry Leaves Hair Tonic

If you want a fuss-free DIY to fight dandruff that won’t get messy, this DIY curry leaves hair tonic is for you. Blend a handful of curry leaves with enough water to get a thin green liquid juice. Add this to a spray bottle and spritz it on your scalp and massage. Leave it on for 20 minutes and rinse with shampoo and conditioner.

Curry leaves are great for removing dandruff flakes and soothing itchiness but it can be drying on the scalp. That’s why when rinsing out this tonic, I like to use a moisturising shampoo like the L’Oreal Paris Hyaluron Moisture 72H Moisture Filling Shampoo.

Try out these home remedies for dandruff and you are surely going to get relief from this pesky hair concern very soon.
