A Star Is Born: 12 Times Priyanka Chopra’s Fashion Looks Proved She Is A True Global Icon
With her work spread out across both Bollywood and Hollywood, all eyes are on Priyanka Chopra and her various outings that catch global attention. Be it award events, runway moments or a certain royal wedding, PC has continued to give us some awe-striking fashion looks in both international and homegrown labels. Without further ado, let’s peek into the various events she has been leaving a mark on over the past few years.
A Global Icon
On our desi girl’s birthday, here’s taking a look at the Hollywood+Bollywood star’s best fashion moments.
At The Toronto Film Festival
Back in the day when Bollywood stars were still starting out on the international red carpets, Priyanka Chopra had already started making her presence felt. Clad in white Gauri & Nainika gown featuring cutout details, the Bollywood actor cut a stunning figure at the Toronto Internation Film Festival.
At The Emmy Awards
The Primetime Emmy Awards are held every year to applaud the best in television. Priyanka Chopra made it to the awards presentation in 2018 in a stunning gown that made waves on the internet. The scarlet red number by Jason Wu comprised an off-the-shoulder detail and a beautiful layering, giving PC’s red carpet twirl its own fashion moment.
At the Marrakech International Film Festival
At the film festival in Morocco, the actor was felicitated for her two-decade-long career. Priyanka Chopra chose to go the desi route, wearing a hand-embroidered Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla saree, featuring fine mukaish and sequins that formed geometric patterns.
At The Royal Wedding
It’s not every day that one gets invited to a royal wedding but being a close friend of the bride, it wasn’t a surprise to see Priyanka Chopra at the wedding. With a lavender Vivienne Westwood skirt suit for the occasion, the actor’s look for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding was right on-point.
A Dreamy Ceremony
We can’t forget to mention the actor’s own wedding look for her nuptials with Nick Jonas. To no one’s surprise, Priyanka Chopra picked a red Sabyasachi lehenga. Quite obviously, the tone-on-tone embellished outfit sent would-be brides in a frenzy. There were, of course, a number of ceremonies that gave us several looks. See the bride’s complete trousseau here.
At The Ambani Wedding
For friend Isha Ambani’s wedding to Anand Piramal, the newlywed was once again seen in traditional Indianwear. This time she wore a pale pink lehenga. Subtle and yet striking, the outfit from Jade by Monica & Karishma sure stood out from the crowd.
At The Met Gala
Having already attended the Met Gala the previous year, PC decided to take it up a notch in 2018. Adhering to the theme for the event—Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination—she wore a burgundy velvet Ralph Lauren gown. To complete the look was a gold beaded hood that took 250 hours to make, along with jewellery from Cartier. Clearly a winner of a look at the Oscars of fashion.
At the Cannes Film Festival
Old school Hollywood charm for Cannes 2019? You got it. Styled by Mimi Cuttrell, the actress packed a punch at the French film festival that fashion enthusiasts await. The powdered blue cinched gown, the fedora and the jewels—what’s not to love!
At Cannes 2.0
What’s better than one look, you ask? Two, or in PC’s case, as many as possible! At Cannes the same year, she joined the Hollywood and Bollywood crowd in a Honayda outfit. The inspiration for the outfit was drawn from Lady Diana’s erstwhile Cannes look, where she had worn an iconic white gown with a scarf.
At The Golden Globes 2020
Seeing the Golden Globes follow the Oscars in the world of cinema, dressing up to the nines is a given. At the red carpet, Priyanka Chopra dazzled in a pink Cristina Ottaviano gown. With an off-the-shoulder neckline and a mini train behind it, the actor’s outfit was perfect for the event.
For The Blenders Pride Runway
The Blenders Pride Fashion Tour saw Priyanka Chopra walk down the runway for Tarun Tahiliani in a three-piece corset saree. The new-age black monochrome number was accompanied by oversized earrings from Isharya. If that’s some limelight-stealing way to make a comeback on the Indian ramp, we don’t know what is!
At The Grammys 2020
For the Grammys 2020, PC wore a Ralph & Russo gown that created headlines (no surprises there). The plunging neckline would be tricky for sure, but the global star pulled it off effortlessly.
There’s just no stopping her when it comes to global domination via her fashion looks. Keep ’em coming! Happy birthday, PC!
